So...This was what peace and quiet felt like.. No one talking to you about work. No one harassing you so you'd play with them.. Just absolute and utter silence! The tree lined path let little sunlight come in, and gave the place an 'aura' of serenity and peace.
Just what Analiese liked.
She felt that here, she was safe. If she didn't get any friends in this camp...Or Recreational Teen Center, as her parents put it..She'd at least have this place to feel free. Unfortunately, she had decided to explore the area while wearing a no sleeve's white 'tee', short beige pants with a purple butterfly design and white flip flops.
"Next time I'll just come in sneakers."
The girl rubbed her feet a bit as she looked around. She took in the fresh scent of the outdoors, of nature and its blessings. The optimistic feeling that had suddenly come out kept mounting.
Now... Analiese settled herself on a rock, opening her cream bag and taking out an 8 1/2 x 11 sketch pad, about the average size of a loose leaf paper. Opening it, she took in the drawings she had made. Many were of family, friends and sights... Oh how she missed them.
She had to admit, as much as she found her family annoying..She couldn't help but want to be with them. The 16 year old would miss her mothers rants about the latest fashion and designs, as well as her fathers pondering about why politics seemed to be going down-hill..
"I'll miss Jonathan sneaking into my room because he had a bad dream.."
She whispered, a bit sadly."..and then lying about it. Saying he was going to prank me" Just what Analiese liked.

Well, it was not a time to be so full of sorrow and homesickness. She wanted to try and take in the beautiful pond, its trees and sky and make place it on paper.
Taking out her purple glasses and a case of artistic/sketch pencils, the young girl looked around. She lifted one pencil. Her deep brown eyes took in the sight once more. Then she began to draw.
Her passion was fueled my the magnificence around her, as well as the natural feelings in her soul as she did so.
Many of her drawings were mostly of lakes, rivers, parks and trees. Although most were made from the many pictures she had seen in magazine, from her imagination as well.
Now, drawing it when she was actually in it. When she was breathing it all in, hearing everything and feeling the rough earth beneath her. To capture that rapture, that breath-taking beauty and make sure that her attempt to place it on paper would catch all its glory...
Now that would be a real challenge. Someone as happy and joyful as Analiese loved these kinds of challenges. For she was not just proving to herself that she could re-create such wonderful things, but make the person viewing it..feel the same way she felt now.
Art was her calling, and the coffee skinned could could not help her call.
"Maybe...I'll be a great artist some day.. Then everyone can see what I can do." She smiled brightly, as she continued to sketch and erase.
The feeling of optimism kept growing. Nothing could ruin her day now.
