MANDY.so what if you can see the dark inside of me? Things don't always turn out what they were planned to be. That saying was especially true with the summer so far for Mandy. She had expected it to be relaxing, catch up with old friends, get some fun and relaxing before it was off to Hollywood and the whole party scene again. Mandy knew that she wasn't really going to get that here. Relaxing was something that the wilderness was supposed to be, but throw a bunch of teenagers in with it, and there was bound to be anything and everything but relaxing.
Don't get Mandy wrong, she was having an amazing time so far, it's just, well, she just didn't really know if it was a good idea to come. Seeing Oliver just reminded her of all that had happened, all that she had been through, leaving him. It had refreshed those amazing feelings that she had for him, and now he had a girlfriend. She was a celebrity, she was supposed to be plastic, no feelings. But that was the farthest thing from the truth. Mandy would have given it all up, everything, if she could be with Oliver right now.
It was night time now, and even though Mandy just got over being sick and was supposed to be sleeping, she wasn't. The tossing and turning and the creaking of her bed caused by the tossing, it was surely keeping her bunk mates up. Mandy hated getting in fights with them, and she really wasn't in the mood to deal with her crabby roomies in the morning, so she stripped off the covers and quietly left the cabin, sneaking past the door.
She stepped off of the cabin's front porch, not sure where to go. It was surely almost midnight now, and she knew that she was going to be in huge trouble if she got caught out of the cabin, but she didn't care. She needed air. Even though Mandy knew it wasn't a good idea, she knew deep inside that now was the time to talk to Oliver. Being in the mammoth cabin always made Mandy nervous, so she flipped her phone out of the pocket of her pajama pants and punched in a text to Oliver, saying if he was still awake that he should meet her by the lake.
Mandy walked along the path to the lake, kicking a few stones along the way. Thankfully, she had been smart enough to kick on her flip flops before heading out, or else her feet would have rock indentations in them right now. Mandy stared up at the sky, at the pure, full moon. She sighed, pushing a few locks of blonde curls behind her ears. She walked along, biting down on her lip.
She strolled onto the dock, sitting down and letting her legs hang over the edge. The bottoms of her pajama pants were getting wet and she desperately wanted to take them off, but if Oliver was coming and he saw her, oh god, she'd never want to show her face in front of him again. Mandy cleared her throat, not wanting to take her feet out of the cool water. Please. Oliver had seen her plenty of times in her under wear before. And he wouldn't come, right?
Mandy looked down at the glistening water below her. It was all too tempting. Like the true fish she was, Mandy peeled off the cheetah print pajama pants, sliding out of her shirt as well. Well, even if he was coming, it could pass as a bikini, right? Haha, no. Oh well. Mandy dived into the water, the splash awakening the stillness. She stayed under water for a second too long and came up, gasping. Ah, Mandy, Mandy, Mandy. That girl will never grow up.

because the drugs never work,,
At the moment Oliver was slumped over on his bed in a oddly mangled looking position. How he had managed to come into such a position was a mystery, but all things considered, it was three o'clock in the morning. Startled out of his reverie by and inconstant, yet amazingly loud beeping which filled the air with it's drones. Snapping awake, Ollie's head swiveled around as he attempted to find the source of what his garbled mind was telling him was a bee. Finally realizing that it, in fact, was not a bee a hand quickly clasped around his cell phone that was tossed precariously next to his head on the pillow, groaning as his back cracked painfully he opened his inbox to be met with a message from Mandy.
Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes he peered at the small iridescence of the screen and read the message to himself slowly, gradually noticing his surroundings. Finally getting what the message had told him, he rolled his shoulder which was stiff from uncomfort, moving a hand to cratch a few lone hairs from his face he blew out, wondering what to do. Sure, he liked Mandy, and he did break up with Duray, but still. She was his friend, she wanted him as a friend.
The question was, could he go down there and continue to pretend that his side of the relationship was completely platonic? Sighing out quietly he rubbed at the bridge of his nose before slinging legs over the side of his bed, moving silently until he stuffed feet into an old pair of converse and walking out the door. When he made it a good ten or so paces away from his cabin he realized, yet again, that he probably should have looked to see what in gods name he was wearing before creeping out.
He was going to freeze...again. Oh well, at least he had a shirt thing time, well, actually he had on a black undershirt, but still, at least there was something covering his chest this time around. At least he had fallen asleep in jeans, how he accomplished this would be indescribable as people usually can't under such circumstances, apparently though - Ollie must have been tired. Coming in view of a wooden sign perched along the side of some sort of tree which he had long ago forgotten the name of.
Feet moved nimbly to avoid the rocks as he moved along the scant path towards the view of the lake. Stray leaves brushed against his shoulder, making him shiver unwillingly at the touch. He hoped to god that some rabid raccoon wasn't waiting out there for him. Or rather, a bear would probably be worse, but his mind was for some reason, stuck on raccoons.
Moving to the end of the path he finally made out the large circular view of the lake, seeing a pile of what looked like something made of cloth, he moved forward to inspect it, that is, he was - before Mandy had popped out of the water gasping. To say the least, Ollie jumped a good five feat before saying, "jesus Mandy, you scared me half to death." Shaking his head he moved along the dock so he would actually be able to see her face, and make sure she didn't drown.
If course, if she was - he couldn't exactly help her. Really, it was immensely annoying at times, to be afraid of the water. Coming to the end, he stooped down the inspect the cloth, pinching it between his fingers he discovered it to be Mandy's shirt. A smile crept over his face as he spoke, "Make sure not to leave your bra here." In a solemn tone, as if she really should remember, before laughing, "Why the hell are you swimming, your going to get frostbite. Then drown. Then die." He spoke out, of course he didn't actually want any of those things to her, but whenever the noun 'water' or 'swimming' came up, the verb 'die' usually seemed to follow.

MANDY.hold me close, i will believe. Mandy always had been a fish. No matter where they were, if it was a swimmable type of water, Mandy would swim in it. Truthfully, that was just who she was. Ever since she was a little girl. Oliver would probably remember it, she thought as she swam along, feeling the silky water glide over her bare flesh. No one else but Mandy would be crazy enough to be swimming this late at night, or earl in the morning. Err, whichever way you looked at it, really.
Swimming got Mandy's mind off of everything. Now, I'm not saying that she's some kind of professional swimmer or anything, but then again, she's not the worst swimmer in the world. Mandy always swam for fun, never for competition. So, don't expect her to be scampering off to become a swimmer instead of an actress or a singer anytime soon.
Mandy sighed dipping underwater once more. She really couldn't stay here until the sunrise. First of all, she was just a little freaked out to be here in the dark, and she would still have to go to all of the activities in the morning. Besides, even if she did make up an excuse that she was sick, she would hardly think that the nurse would want to put up with her anymore.
Mandy swam towards the dock, wrapping her arms around a wooden pillar as she gazed up at the sky. In the city, all of the bright lights blocked out that amazing view. She couldn't believe that all of the people there were missing out on this, it was as if a thousand, no, a million stars, were all up there, a little secret that only the citizens of Brunswick got to have, all locked up in their pocket.
Mandy heard foot steps and although she could've guessed it was Oliver, she bumped her head against the wood. "Oww. She muttuered after she had flinched in the wrong direction. She rubbed her head, flicking some of her damp hair behind her ear. "Shit." She blushed, realizing that he was here, and she was basically naked. Lovely.
Mandy hoisted herself up onto deck, smirking. "No, my dear, the question is why shouldn't I swim? It's perfectly fine." She laughed, throwing a shirt on quickly. She leaned over the deck, wringing out her hair. "So. You came, I'm glad." She sincerely stated with a smile.
She looked up at him, smiling. "I'd hug you, but I don't think you want to hug me when I'm all wet." She laughed.

strike a violent pose,,
He watched curiously as Mandy hoisted herself onto the deck from the pool of water below, creating a multitude of splashes that threatened to touch him. He couldn't let that happen after all, then he'd die. Stepping back slightly he moved to sit, crossing legs as he did so, watching the blond as she tugged on her shirt with an almost furious notion. Apparently Oliver felt the need to point something out as his lips were twitching in an attempt not to smile, "you know, that's kind of pointless, your getting your shirt wet and now I can just see through it." He laughed, picking up a random twig before vaulting it towards her playfully.
"Don't worry, I've seen you like that before, yeah?" He said, winking mischievously before laughing and holding up his hands in mock surrender, "Kidding, kidding, don't kill me." He spoke out, though lips betrayed his action as he continued to smirk in Mandy's general direction. And then he heard her speak, though in this case, she probably would have been better off if she hadn't. Shaking his head, as if he was explaining why the sky was blue to a toddler, he spoke out, "See that large, evil looking splashy thing?" Pointing towards the lake as if to enunciate his point, "If you touch it, it will eat you. The end. Your lucky you had me here to heroically save you." He added, almost as an afterthought.
When her voice rang out once more, his expression softened, he did love his friend, even if it was in varying ways, but still - he had a soft spot for her. "Yeah, I'm glad too Mandy." Shivering involuntarily as the wind picked at his skin, which rose into patches of goosebumps. "I swear to god though, can you pick a more..." He seemed to be grasping for a word, then though it seemed he had a revelation as he pointed to the lake, "demonic meeting place?" He said, crossing his arms in indignation.
He watched as she pulled at her hair, letting it drip over the side of the wooded dock. The wind pulled some back though and the droplets were flecked about his feet. Pressing a finger to the now flattened water speck he watched as it evaporated slowly into the already decaying wood. His head turned up as she spoke again, a seeming volt of laughter coloring her voice, he grinned despite himself, pretending to evaluate the situation and sucking in a calculating breath while pulling quite the odd face.
"Hmm, well, I think I'll take my chances." He paused, bringing a hand out to feel for her fingers in the oncoming light. "Besides, you must be freezing, hell, Im freaking cold and I didn't jump into a melted glacier cap." Of course, this hardly made any sense whatsoever, though when Ollie talked about water, nothing had really proven to make sense. After all, you didn't die if you touched water, many people were alive and well to prove that theory wrong.
"You are cold." He spoke out a fraction softer, fingers wrapping around her slightly damp ones, as he dragged her closer. "See? See how much I love you, I'm hugging you and your covered in water." He spat out the last word, as if it was a deadly plague of some sort, rather than a life source. Arms draped around her small frame as he moved to warm her, even fractionally. Forehead tipped to rest atop her hair as he felt the wet strands press against his cheek, "So whats up then, to want to talk to me at this ungodly hour?" He mumbled affectionately into her hair.
}}sorry, it sucks. -.-;

MANDYyou've gotta dream a little dream. Mandy rolled her eyes, laughing at her friend. Mandy remembered her friends telling her that they had always gotten tongue-tied when they were with their crushes, and nervous. Mandy had never felt that way before with Oliver. Maybe it was the fact that they were such good friends, that Mandy had thought that maybe the feelings had been there since they started being friends. Ever since they were getting older, Mandy knew that she was feeling a little more, 'school girl' around him. "Psh, oh well." She said, flicking more of her hair behind her ear.
Mandy laughed at his next remark, but she couldn't help but blush a little bit. Of course he had, but still. It was different with him seeing her 'like that' when she was 12-years-old compared to now. "Haha, underneath all of that gentleman-ish, I know there's a perv in there somewhere. It never hurts to be safe rather than sorry." She laughed, extending her legs and examining them in the pale moon light, then directing her attention back to him.
Mandy rolled her eyes. "There's nothing wrong with being in the lake and swimming, no matter what hour is." She added with a giggle. "But, I suppose that if it was about to capture me, then I am forever in your debt, my savior." She joked, smiling. Even now that she had this heavy burden weighing down on her about their future, if they had a future, she still felt light as a feather with his jokes. No matter what he said, Mandy never really took it to heart.
Mandy laughed. "Oh please, Ol. Don't even say that," She remarked with a laugh. "You know I am perfectly capable of coming up with a more demonic spot. Of course, if you want to go there instead..." She giggled, standing up and hearing the dock creak. Anyone would've been nervous at that sound, but Mandy wasn't. Worst case scenario, the dock broke. But that could only happen if they were moving around a lot, and Mandy doubted that suddenly Oliver would want to have a break dance competition.
Mandy had been touched by Oliver many times through out their relationship. Whether he was shoving her when they were kids or hugging or kissing or whatever it was, but it always felt like an electric shock everytime their flesh met. Such an emotion that one was sure never to get used to, no matter how many times they experienced it. And since they had known each other since they were kids, that was a pretty long time.
Mandy giggled nervously, obvious goose bumps rising on her skin as she hugged him, arms wrapped around his waist. She leaned her head against his shoulder, breathing in his familiar, welcoming scent. She playfully pinched his hip, giggling. "I see, I guess you do looveeee me. What are we gonna tell Duray?" She said with a giggle, even though the remark, even though it came from her own mouth, it gave her shivers.
The feeling of his lips against her hair was so sentimental, but she knew that it was all wrong. He was supposed to be acting like her brother. She did have a little brother, and she knew that this was not the behavior that a brother had for his sister. Mandy let her finger tips run over his back. "I don't think I really had to tell you anything," She said quietly, half-lying. "I just wanted to see you." She admitted.

Did you change your mind,,
He laughed slightly before saying, "sure." Snorting slightly at the act she seemed to be throwing around. Rolling his eyes slightly at her next comment he grinned, "Of course, I wanna drag you back to my cabin and bang you right now." He said, laughing slightly before reaching out a hand to ruffle up her hair. "You loserface." He commented, before reaching out a hand to tickle at her side playfully. Sitting back once more he allowed legs to rise, where he rested elbows against his knees, eyes glancing over the rippling streams of water before falling once more against the blond sitting across from him. He wondered slightly if she liked anybody, that maybe she wanted to talk to them at three in the morning rather than settle for him. He bit at his lip, eyes glazing to a worried demeanor, though it was hard to make out in the subtle rays of light the moon was giving off. Would she be angry, he wondered, if he said he never stopped liking her - even when she said she didn't want to see him again. But still, wouldn't that be selfish, to weigh such a burden on her shoulders when she was already giving him a chance to be friends again? He shook his head slightly, corners of his mouth lifting as he heard Mandy's voice speak out once more.
"There is definitely something wrong with it. Did I not just explain the very likely possibility that you will certainly die if you go swimming." He mock scolded, shaking his head with something akin to disappointment. At her next words he laughed softly before opening his mouth in retort, "Of course it was, and I am definitely your savior, you will now have to be my loyal slave for eternity after I so heroically rescued you." He said, hitting her in the side gently with his elbow. As she spoke again he suppressed rolling his eyes, "You could not, there is no place as demonic as this." He said, nodding his head curtly before wincing slightly and saying, "Actually, that redwood peak place..." He visibly shuddered and a look of fright passed over his features alarmingly.
As he brought her closer he felt her fingers grab his skin at his hip, "ow, bad Mandy. That is not aloud." He spoke, as if chastising a newly trained puppy. Laughing softly at her words he said, "Yes, I suppose do." Hands moved down her arms in an attempt to stop the goosebumps that ran down her arms. "Hmm, well, Duray - I kind of might have broke up with her. I don't know, she was...different. Kinda, I guess. It's hard to explain." He said, shrugging, and as he did felt Mandy's head move along with the motion, which, for some unknown reason made him smile. As he heard her voice reverberate off of his chest once more he chuckled, "wow, thanks for that, drag me out of bed at three in the morning so you can get me wet" He spoke out, though it was obvious that he was plainly joking.
Hands moved against the girls waist as he twisted her around, his legs moved out as he brought her closer, her back against his chest as arms wrapped around the girls waist once more. Knees bent upwards and it almost appeared the girl was trapped in a makeshift cage, besides the fact that there was nothing barring her way in front, and if she complained the boy would let her go without a second thought. Chin moved to rest against her shoulder as he carefully avoided all traces of wet hair. "new rule, when coming to see me you are not allowed to jump into a large body of water." He said, eyes closing lightly as forehead rested against the fabric of the girls shirt.
}}eck, sorry - it's morning and my post is icky.

MANDYyou're changing my heart, you know who you are, 1234. Mandy slightly flinched, but had a smile on her face when he touched her. She was incredibly ticklish, but it was a totally different matter with how easy he could make her jump and flinch and smile and giggle just by brushing his hand against hers. Even if Mandy could act all big and tall, like she was a 'young adult', she could instantly melt into a school girl by his touch. Mandy sat down next to him, dangling her legs over the dock. It was silent for a few moments, but in Mandy's opinion, not the awkward silence that you get when you're talking to relatives and suddenly they've asked you about school and what's up and how you are and then there's an awkward silence. This wasn't anything close to it, as if they were just sorting out their thoughts for a moment.
Mandy smiled, rolling her eyes. "Hundreds of people go swimming in this lake every day, Ollie, I'm fine, I promise." She laughed, crossing one leg over the other and examining her legs in the pale moon light. She shivered, except this time it was because of the breeze and not the fact that she was touching him, or maybe it was a mixture of both. Who knew? She laughed. "What about a dressing room? Or maybe a hair salon. Yep, I could've asked you to sneak out with me and meet me at the land of hair curlers." She said, smiling. It reminded her of when she would force Oliver to sit with her and watch soap opera after soap opera.
"Ruff, ruff," Mandy retorted playfully when he teased her like a puppy, smiling. Was it even allowed to be having this much fun with your ex-boyfriend who you were totally pining over? Mandy hadn't seen it, but the next change she got to read over the constitution, she'd make sure to check. If Mandy hadn't been staring out into the distance when Oliver told Mandy about him and Duray breaking up, she probably would've passed out. "I'm sorry. What happened?" She asked, water still dripping off of her wet body. So. They were broken up.
Mandy smiled as Oliver situated her, not sure how she was exactly sitting right now, but it didn't matter. She loved the feeling of him laying against her, and she couldn't help but run her fingers down the nape of his neck. It brought back so many memories, just touching him. "Ollie, I have some advice. Well, I mean, I need some advice," She said, blushing. "I have this friend...Bertha. And, um, Bertha likes this guy...Bob. And Bob and Bertha dated before, but Bob was dating Betty and now that Betty and Bob are apart, Bertha wants to know how she can tell if Blair, I mean, Bob, still likes her." She said, her voice so quick that it was probably unaudible. "So, uh. What should Bertha do?"
