Carefully. Don't let anybody catch you, don't make a sound. Toes tipped across the Yosemite cabin's porch grass. She crept up the back steps, they creaked slightly and she hopped to the back porch stealthily, hazel optics a gleam with mischeivous intention. The bag in her right hand squabbled in protest, being very small and odd in shape. Inside were two large spiders, Tarantulas to be precise, Lacey found while hunting across the woods. She crept around slightly to look for any people free from the lunch schedule. There were none, and Lacey smiled at this. They didn't call her the smilechild for nothing, now did they? She missed her friends, and she missed being able to bring them along. But for her first prank, which was very minor, she wanted to go solo. "Alright dudes. . ." she opened the back door slightly, everybody at lunch and unsuspecting. So unsuspecting. "Run free. . ." she opened the bag and pointed the opening into the door, two hairy spiders emmerging from the bag and jumping across the floor. Lacey giggled and shoved the bag into the trashcan, skipping from the scene. Memories flooded her mind of the last time she was at this forsaken place.
TWO YEARS AGO. . . "But Avery." Lacey smiled casually, her voice full of compassion for the man that stood before her. "Don't Avery me, you know we shouldn't be doing this. . ." Lacey smiled again as Avery spoke, the snake in her hand squirming under her grip. "Get that away from me," the seventeen-year-old boy added, inching away from the garden snake in the slightest way, his steps heavy, her steps light. "Avery, this is gonna be fun." the fifteen-year-old smiled her charming smile once more, but Avery just looked at her skeptically. "Just get it over with so we can go." he pleaded with her, stepping with bounce now as they neared the Yosemite cabins. "Alright dude, go gettem." she opened the back door, just as she had two years later, and let the snake slip inside. You see, Avery and Lacey were both a ways ahead of the Yosemite crowd. The snake would be released prior to their entering, but they would soon find their surprise waiting for them. Lacey waited untli she heard terrified screeches, jumped up suddenly and dragged Avery into the back forrest towards the Recreation center. She laughed until she was out of breath, and when they got there she was on the grass, gasping for breath. "That was. . . haha. . .gre. .at" her breath was labored, and Avery just rolled his eyes, leaning against the pole. "Yeah." he guessed, sighing. He was in Mammoth, and he wasn't one for much trouble. But Lacey and him were pretty tight, and somehow she had gotten him to come along. About ten minutes later Lacey stood up, finally caught her breath and sat on the grass next to where Avery was now sitting, having moved from the Basketball Pole. "Thanks." Lacey said, smiling at him, her eyes not in the least bit dulled from the excitement. Avery, without warning, leaned in and kissed her. . .
Lacey snapped back to reality as she reached the baskeball hoops where a tall boy shot some baskets. Her mind wandered to Avery again, not caring about the boy at all. She missed him. A lot, and nothing could change that. But she had to get over him sooner or later. This time, however, she chose later. She looked up at the boy again. But this wasn't just any ordinary guy, it was Allen. Lacey didn't hesitate to skip up to him and steal the ball away with ease. Allen wasn't the best at the game, but he still liked it. Lacey, however, was a champ at stealing the ball away. Her converse ran across the pavement and shot the ball. It bounced off the rim and she frowned, grabbing it again and shooting once more. This time it rounded the rim, falling through the basket with reluctance. Lacey smiled, laughing slightly and almost sure Allen had no idea what had just happened. She hit him with the basketball, and it bounced off his head. "What's uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup?!" she smiled, skipping over to him as he reached for his head where the ball had collided. Her colorful wear would make anybody stare, but her friends should've been used to it by now. Today she wore an outfit she picked out from Urban Outfitters: plum skinny jeans, arcade shirt, and grace mid top adidas. Of course, it was the most vibrant thing in this whole camp. She waited for Allen to respond and had a great thought. This day just kept getting better and better.

As he continued just to try and shoot the ball into the net; his mind wondered off the fact that he was trying to get the basketball in the nets and how many basket's he scored and more to last year. And the most pathetic thing is, he couldn't remember most of it. He remembered being sick a lot, which he could probably figure out on his own. And he remembered always going out and having something to do every night. But as of this year he hadn't had any real plans. Nobody came up to him running and smiling. Of course Lacey did, but that was a online greet for one. And second of all she's Lacey. He's known her forever. Of course she's going to say hello to him. But as for everybody else? He must have pulled some ridiculously crazy shit then, because nobody has been talking to him. And it's got him puzzled.
And right when he was about to go for another basket all the sudden he was just pushing air. First he looked down to his hands, which he saw where now empty. And then he saw a flash of orange and red and all those other crazy hair colors that could only belong to one girl;Lacey. And right before he was about to make sure that it was Lacey he was hit by something on the back of his head. He gave a little smile and laughed it all. "Hey whore, what was that for?" he said, now there was no doubt in his mind that it was Lacey even though he still wasn't facing her. But when he finally did turn around, no big surprise, she was standing right there.
Though she looked just as happy as he was and she looked just as happy as getting back into the swing of everything he couldn't help but just get this feeling like something was making her not the greatest she could be. Like she had something on her mind just like him. But maybe he was just so concerned with his own problems he was imagining other people having things wrong with them to. "So, besides you practically killing me, whats up?" he asked, but his 'whats up' coming out like 'wuzzup'. Just Allen being Allen.

Amused with her friend's bewilderment, Lacey's face smoothed into her trademark smile. It was always so full of mischief and trouble, that it was hard to resist a question for the girl. Most likely something like 'alright, what did you do now?'. The reason behind this trouble-smile; well, if Lacey was around there was usual some sort of prank or mischeif around that same area. Allen really didn't have a clue half the time, but Lacey loved it. Allen just would be Allen Norton if he didn't have the cluelesness to go with it. So there she stood, the basketball had hit his head and Lacey eager to see the reaction on his face. Something with a name, he would say. Profanity was Allen's middle name. Lacey didn't use bad words very often, she found them disrespectful and somewhat ugly. They were her least favorite words, just to sum it up. So naturally she tried to steer clear of them. Of course, if you really got her mad she'd probably have to throw one or two in there for good measure. But usually everybody tried to stay on Lacey's 'good' side, in fear that something would happen. That, or they just liked happy people.
Lacey put a lot of faith in Allen, since he happened to be one of her closest friends. She had lots of friends, and by lots she meant tons. But she picked out a few just to be close to, to share secrets and thoughts, and get comfort from. Or drag along to get in trouble aswell when she got caught pulling some odd scheme she had concocted. She shook her head so her hair fell back into place, it's wild fire colors still meshed together. As Lacey had expected, he reffered to her as a certain name, and then asked a retorical question; a question he already knew had no answer. "ONCE A WHORE YOU'RE NOTHING MORE, I'M SORRY THAT'LL NEVER CHANGE. AND IN ALL FORGIVENESS WE'RE BOTH SUPPOSED TO HAVE A SHAME. . ." Lacey burst into song, her vocals throwing powerhouse sounds, booming across the rec center as if she were shouting with a Mega-Phone. Of course, it was just Lacey singing at random once more, happy with her display of a song she had recently written. Misery Business she would call it. Misery, it was such a harsh thing. Life was too precious. . .
Anyways. She looked towards him as he asked the question about whats up. "I just ate lunch, got bored, released some tarantulas into the Yosemite's main cabin, and came here. Nothing out of the ordinary." she shrugged, stealing the ball away from him again and bouncing it between her legs and back, tossing it back to Allen boredly. "We should do something." she stated the down-to-earth obvious. That was Lacey's way of speech; always the obvious, always the truth. The blunt, non-sugar-coated truth. Lacey's view on the world was that it needed more truth, so that's exactly what she was going to support through her own words. She tossed the basketball back again after stealing it once more and sighed.

He nodded, listing to her speak. She was always such a happy person, always full of energy. Just like him. Of course, she used her brain a little more then Allen, but that's just what made them such a good pair of friends. He grabbed another basketball as she flung his around, trying his best not to get hit again. He aimed towards the backboard and shot, another shot going in again. Then she busted out into singing and he smiled. "Fuck off and go to American Idol or something if your so great". After all, singing is all he ever heard from her. But, swearing is all that she ever heard from him. So she must get just as annoyed because he seems to swear every other sentence and she swears like once a month.
Then right when he was shooting again she threw the old basketball at him, but this time he thought fast and threw the other one towards the hoop. And because he was doing this all so fast and not thinking at all none of them made it in. But whatever. Grabbing both of them he placed them back on the shelf and said "Yeah, we sho-" he said, cutting himself off, what she just said hitting him hard. "WHAT DID YOU JUST DO!?" he asked sounding more like a existed 5 year old then a 17 year old best friend. Another smile automatically came to his face and he said "Yes, we defiantly have to do something" oh dear god, this just made him realize how much they had to hang out of she was already doing shit to the camp without him.
