Fear shouldn't stop one in persuing their dreams, But when that fear is love, Fear isn't an option.
When Hunter first realized he had feelings for his friend, he buried them, and buried them very deep. If things had ever developed into them being more than friends, he knew that it wouldn’t be short slings, or one night stands, it would be something more than all that. Truthfully, it scared him. He didn’t want to be in a relationship like his parents, fighting all the time, and never having time to just relax. Hanging out wouldn’t be any different, because they already hung out every minute of every day right now. He was falling hard for her, no matter how much he wanted to admit it. Every second scared him, like what if she found out somehow? What if she didn’t feel the same? A bunch of possible questions hung in the air, and he felt like a small beaten puppy. His past record with relationships weren’t exactly the best, which was why he tried to avoid them. He was already in several pieces; he couldn’t afford to break any more. He’d put effort into such a relationship if he had the chance, it was what he really wanted, so he’d go for it eventually, and make it work.
At first it was a shock to him when he realized how much Jessica’s father was actually in her life, and how much he actually cared. Hunter grew to respect the man, admiring him for how much he wanted to protect his daughter, and for making effort to be in her life. So, that’s when he made it a goal to show Mr. Milano that he wasn’t that bad, and that he really was a complete gentleman when the time was right. It became more common for him to come over the Milano house, because he’d see if anything needed work on, and odd job that really needed tending to. He remembered fixing cars, helping him build sheds, working on their pool, whatever to make an effort with her father. Slowly, he realized that Hunter was a good kid; he just lacked that parental attention that every kid needed. He felt like Mr. Milano was the father he never had, because at that time they did things together, and learned from one another. Once Hunter set his mind on something, there definitely was no turning back. He’d wanted to show her father what kind of guy he really was, and after some perseverance he had. The benefit of it all was that Jessica no longer had to worry whether or not they got along, and her father felt safe having his daughter out and about with him. Respect was a big thing for him, especially when it involved something he never really had. He wouldn’t want to see Jessica’s relationship go down the drain like his relationship with his father had.
He shrugged once more, the smile never leaving his lips. “Well, sure, as long as you don’t blow our cover,” He said, knowing that it was extremely easy to make her laugh, even if he wasn’t trying. “One, I’m not the nicest person in the world, you’re just blowing my disguise,” He teased, pausing to come up with something for number two. “And two, I didn’t think you were sucking up until you said that,” He smiled jokingly, sliding his hands into the pockets of his jeans for a moment or two.
He nodded; glad she thought his opinion mattered. Jessica always seemed to do a lot for other people, but never enough for herself, it would be good for her to do something that she wanted to do for a change. “I’ll be there in whatever you decide,” He reminded her, another nod given to confirm the statement. If she chose to be a lawyer, then so be it, he’d help her out with whatever she needed, and he’d definitely support her. If she chose to be a writer, he’d be there giving her ideas, editing her work, whatever. Like any other, if she decided to get into modeling and fashion, he’d be at about every show, enjoying all her hard work, and the parties that came along with it. She’d be there for him; it was only his nature to return the favor.
“I could even get a suit with the sunglasses, maybe some high tech communication gadget,” He joked, straightening his posture as to how those in the secret service stood in all the movies. He’d like it; the sense of keeping someone safe always put him at ease. He’d always been the type of guy who liked to know that he was doing his job, and guarding was that kind of job. Curiosity got the better of him when she raised an eyebrow, he raising his as she spoke. He soon smiled, shaking his head lightly. “They’ve all got better things to do, and plus, they wouldn’t bother with a ‘nobody’ like me,” He said reassuringly, but knew from personal experiences that the models always loved fresh meat, or maybe that was just those from England.
He smiled gently as she took his hand, starting off the walk, nodding when she said she wasn’t cold anymore. Her question took him slightly by surprise, but he kept his composure, aiming to respond to tit truthfully. “Yeah, a couple people, one in particular,” He paused, his gaze drifting down to Jessica. “The whole relationship thing just throws me off, you know? I know I’m ready for some kind of commitment, but I just don’t know how to approach it,” He shrugged lightly, sighing. “What about you?”

They say that love is in the air, but never is it clear, How to pull it close and make it stay, Butterflies are free to fly, and so they fly away, Leaving me to carry on and wonder why, But even through it all, I'm always on your side! Jessica met Hunter's parents at the party that she and Hunter where introduced in, and even though she and Hunter became the best of friends and hung out together most of the time, Jessica didn't actually get to know his parents this much, they weren't always there and Hunter preferred spending time at her house, From what Hunter used to say about his parents and about his relationship with them, Jessica thought that their lives and their work prevented them from communicating with their son. Losing a son also might've affected their already shaken relationship. But even though, in general Jessica liked the Townsend family, specially the little Townsend. He was like a younger brother to her and since she hangs out with Hunter often, she met the kid and got to know him, sometimes when she goes by to Hunter's house and he's not there, she used to play with his younger brother, he was a fun person to be around… She always wished that she had a younger brother or a sister, when her father remarried again, it's true that she didn't like it and she was against it, but when she saw how caring and honest Olivia were, and how she loved Jessica. Jessica grew to like her and with time they became friends and Jessica always turned to her for advices… Jessica wanted Olivia to get pregnant and have a younger Milano in the house, but due to some fertility problems Olivia failed to get pregnant. And then finding out that she is sterile… Her father didn't care much about it he comforted her and told her that they can always adopt a child, so Olivia kinda found in Jessica and Wyatt the children that she'd never have. Wyatt her older brother was always there for Jessica and she liked the fact that she have an older brother, but he was so protective of her and he kinda envied Hunter for having the father/son relationship that Wyatt didn't have with their father although he never admitted it but Jessica felt that Wyatt didn't like Hunter that much because of this. Hunter always seemed to be having good time with their father something that Wyatt didn't have.
Jessica gave Hunter a smile, "I won't blow the cover I promise, but we're gonna have to run fast, I run like a girl…" Jessica said visualizing that in her mind, picturing them spraying and running, it was pretty funny… "How can you say that, well even if you're not the nicest person in the world in other's eyes, in my eyes you are, and that's enough right." Jessica said eyeing him. "And second of course you're gonna be there remember you're my body guard and am gonna keep an eye on you, if you flirt with any of the models…." Jessica said shaking her head acting disappointed before she continued, "Then am so not gonna fire you but we'll have some serious talking to do Mr. Townsend. Jessica said and sighed… Jessica then giggled picturing Hunter with a suit, she never saw him wearing a suit before maybe just once or so, she wasn't quite sure about it, but she thought that he would look hot in a suite, Jessica nodded. "Yeah and you can have one of those walkie talkies plus you would look super shmexie in a black suite." Jessica said as she winked at him. Jessica frowned when Hunter said that "Nobody" comment. She gave him a little tap on his shoulder, "Hey what did you just say, they're the nobody, And it’s gonna be like every model's dream to get with you and they'd all be sucking up to me so I can set you up on a date with them but don’t get thrilled am not sure I'd want you to be with one of them buddy unless I really do like her…" Jessica said jokingly raising an eyebrow at him. "No seriously Hunter, Nobody is perfect so it can't be you. You're not nobody." Jessica said joking again although she kept a serious face with a small smile.
As they walked hand in hand, Jessica's eyes shifted between Hunter and the path they walked in. Jessica nodded not surprised, Heads always turned towards Hunter whenever he walked into a room, specially girls, Jessica can't blame them, Hunter was indeed good looking, he's a nice guy, he's funny and quite a great friend, who wouldn't like that in a guy… Jessica knew that girls at camp will be all over him trying to go out with him or party with him, there was this particular girl that Jessica didn't like, Holli Abbott or something like that, Hunter is becoming friends with her and the girl didn't exactly keep a good record or a clean one for that matter, everybody talked about her at camp, apparently she have this habit to hook up with guys and Jessica didn't like that. "So there's someone in particular, and when were you going to tell me about this?" Jessica said smiling, "I think when the time is right for you to be in a relationship you'll know, I guess, you know that am not great in those stuff either." Jessica said as she flipped her hair with the other hand. "So do I know her and do you want my help, I can set you up in a date with her I just have to tell her some stuff about you and am sure that she'll go out with you, you know am so good at matching people up…Not." Jessica said sarcastically. "No don't believe me am a horrible matchmaker…but seriously do you want my help with the girl?" Jessica said happily… Jessica wasn't crushing on anyone in the camp yet, there were a few guys that caught her attention but nothing serious, some innocent flirting and that was pretty much it, nothing serious… "Well nothing yet, I don’t know we'll see with time, if anybody came knocking on my door someone who's good enough and I really liked him then am not gonna say no…" Jessica said smiling.

Let's live this real life fantasy.
Hunter was never one who liked bringing friends around the house. His father hated having people around in general, especially when he needed to work. So, whenever he invited someone over they were always taken to the pool house, which was a lot friendlier of a place anyhow. The man didn’t mind Jessica, however, maybe because she was a close friend’s daughter, or just the fact that he liked how well behaved his son was with her around. Plus, he tended not to have anyone over when both his parents were in the house, because all hell was sure to break loose. Honestly, he wasn’t sure why they hadn’t divorced yet; it would probably only make life easier.
Luck was on their side when a certain friend of Jacob’s was around, and chances were that he was in fact tagging along. Hunter had met the little girl when they first moved to the United States; actually, she’d been the one to meet him. He’d always wanted a sister of some sort, and this little girl seemed to be around enough to be considered one. His younger brother constantly had her around, and she seemed to keep his parents in line when they were getting into some sort of an argument. Mr. Townsend always had a soft spot for girls, which was somewhat a good thing that he didn’t have any daughters, because he’d give in to their every wish. The little girl got enormous things from the Townsend family, party because she was a foster child, and both her parents had died when she was extremely young. Hunter always joked about adopting her when he turned eighteen, and part of him did want to give her a good home, but he wasn’t sure he was right person for such a job. Maybe his father would weaken someday and give the eight year old a home.
It wasn’t that Hunter wouldn’t make a good father, because he would, probably a hundred times better than his parents ever thought of being. He liked kids, as long as they weren’t totally annoying him, but he wasn’t ready to give up his style of life for something like that. He just hated it when he watched the little girl go back to the foster care home, taking her place in bed beside about ten more lonely kids. Last year he’d taken all twelve of the kids to the Townsend house, which was huge, courtesy of how well the business was doing. He hadn’t had so much clean fun in his life, playing Twister and some Dance game for Playstation it really was fun.
“I’ll just have to give you a piggy back ride if you’re not fast enough,” He smiled, allowing a laugh to surpass his lips. The idea was definitely entertaining, but not something he planned on doing. With their luck, the girls would be those who ratted on people, even though camp was supposed to be fun. However, Hunter was a sneaky guy, there was no way they’d get caught.
“It’s definitely enough,” He said, knowing that he really was a nice guy when he wanted to be. Look at those kids, he invited them over every weekend to just hang out, get away from all their troubles with finding a home. Kids shouldn’t have to worry about something like that, they should be able to live their life and have fun. On the outside he really didn’t appear to be all that nice, probably one of those snobby little rich boys’ only England’s finest could produce.
Hunter rolled his eyes at her next comment, shaking his head in disbelief. “I promise I’ll be on my best behavior,” He said with a straight face, glancing in her direction before he smiled. Why would she care, anyway? “I can work with that,” He replied simply, nodding lightly shortly after he spoke. He was a natural flirt, and it didn’t necessarily mean anything, it just sort of was. You couldn’t quite tell with this Townsend, he tended to hide things that were really there.
He rarely wore suits, only at his father’s parties, but usually he ditched the jacket and tie not even halfway through. Hunter was more of a relaxed kind of guy, but liked dressing up when the time was right. If you looked quickly at him, you might even mistake him for his father, not that that was a bad thing. Mr. Townsend was a good man; he just failed to get his priorities straight. “We’ll have to go shopping, then,” He joked, he hated shopping, but surprisingly Jessica always managed to keep his focus on what they were doing. As long as he was getting something good out of it, then he’d go.
Hunter hated lying, but that was one lie he couldn’t help but tell. He wasn’t a ‘nobody’; he was a Townsend, straight out of London, England, where the family originated. Heads did turn in his direction when he walked through a door, partly because he was attractive, and partly because people knew him, or heard of him. When he actually did choose to let the British accent slip, heads really did turn in his direction. Usually it was only when he was drunk, because he really didn’t have any choice over what his body did.
He shook his head at her offer, yearning to be able to tell her whom it was he was falling for, but he couldn’t. You couldn’t exactly tell your best friend you thought you were into her, that would be just weird. “I’m good, thanks, my last match from you didn’t exactly turn out… Pleasantly,” He replied, laughing at the memory. He wasn’t sure he was really ready for a relationship, but it wouldn’t hurt to try, it was only a summer thing, right? Maybe he’d find himself in something this summer, but as long as he was sober, or had any piece of his mind left, hooking up wasn’t on his agenda. He wanted a break from that, maybe let someone in far enough to get to know the real him. Sometimes Hunter didn’t come off like he wanted himself to, and possibly a big loss was made. “Of course,” He replied to her last statement, smiling lightly. “Have some fun this summer, you deserve it.”

I can feel the magic floating in the air Being with you gets me that way! Jessica smiled at his comment as they walked; it was really fun to be around Hunter, the company of him always made her laugh and forget about other stuff, she felt that whenever she's with him, the weight of the world was off of her shoulders and she was carefree. Hunter always made Jessica laugh no matter what was going on, even if she was angry at him, all he has to do is look at her or smile like he did now and he'll be off the hook, just like this. "I'll held you to it buddy."
Jessica knew in her heart that Hunter is a nice guy no matter what he says or even what others will say about him, she knew that he's a great guy who just needed a little guidance even though she thought that he does know what's not right and what's right. When she had this weird phase and rebelled she knew that she was doing the wrong thing, she knew that eventually something bad will happen and when it did she regretted everything she have done in this phase, upsetting her father, defying his orders, being mean to everyone around her, it's like she was possessed and that she wasn't the girl that everybody else knew, frankly she doesn't even know why did she do this, she just did. It's probably why Jessica now always tried to do the right thing and be the good girl and one who obey the rules and don't break it, it's as though as she's making up for what she had put her family through.
"Yeah I expect you to behave yourself Mr. my bodyguard." Jessica said smiling, quite frankly Jessica didn't know why she cared that much about the matter, Hunter is free to date whom ever he wanted, but she just felt jealous, Jessica didn't know why, he makes her feel weird, her feelings are all mixed up together but he's her best friend and she doesn't want to see him get hurt. Or was it something else, is it because she just started feeling weird being with him, is it because what's going inside of her, those feelings that she hid long time ago, she wasn't sure anymore.
"Oh my god, I thought I'd never hear you say it, we'll go shopping I can't believe it…When are we going back home?" Jessica said laughing lightly, Jessica loved shopping, well it is a common thing between girls to like shopping but that wasn't the point. She was happy that she was gonna shop with Hunter, she haven't go to the mall with a guy before to actually shop and buy things, She used to beg Wyatt to go shopping with her, she loved buying clothes to guys. "I wanna ask you something, why do you guys hate shopping so much, I mean Duh! It's like the best thing in the world…" Jessica said looking at him pretending to be serious about it.
Jessica was a little disappointed that Hunter didn't tell her which girl he was falling for, she thought that he'd tell her about the girl. She wasn't quite sure if she was more disappointed in him not telling her or the fact that there's someone that he's falling for here. Jessica shook off that weird feeling and smiled at Hunter remembering that one time she set him up with a friend of hers and it was a total disaster, it was then when Jessica found out that she was a terrible matchmaker and made a note to herself not to match anymore people in the future. "Yeah it looks like am not gonna match anyone in the near future…it'll turn horrible am sure, but really was it that bad? I mean the girl that I did set you up with? You know that ever since that date she never spoke with me again…What did you do to her anyway, poor little girl…" Jessica said giggling.
Jessica didn't get in any serious relationship before, it was all just for fun, the only time that she thought she was headed that way turned all wrong and bad, Ian wasn't exactly her type, he was a player and Jessica knew it but she was blinded by his sweetness or as she figured out later, it was by his lies, even though that something told her he was a liar but Jessica thought that no harm could be done dating Ian, she was also their for fun, nothing serious. So she didn't care about him being a player or anything of that sort, it wasn't until she started to get way attached and sucked into a web of lies and devious behavior that she called it a quits, Jessica felt for that she was fragile, she was hurt and her heart was broken into pieces, she did love Ian but the things he did was so much for her to handle, he called her and kept on doing so, but Jessica didn't give in to temptations and honestly if Hunter wasn't there by her side at the time, she didn't know how could've she gotten through that whole thing. Now after a year or so Jessica knew that what she felt when she was with Ian wasn't real love, it was more like she really liked him and more of an Infatuation thing than it is real love. Maybe if he wasn't a player they would've ended up together and fall in love for real.
Jessica got a little bit confused, she wasn't sure whether she should be content with what Hunter said or be upset. She felt kinda annoyed hearing him saying that she should have some fun… "Yeah maybe I should have some fun, do you know anybody who's available?" Jessica said coldly… But before Hunter could even answer she continued, "I believe with Wyatt lurking around every bush, protecting me as he says am not gonna have fun with anybody, he's just so protective even though I can take care of myself, sometimes he just annoys me you know." Jessica said going back to her old cheerful self and smiled at Hunter. It wasn't his fault that she has to fight with the feelings that were growing inside of her and she's surly not gonna take it out on him…

One look, and you've got me hooked.
Truthfully, he hadn’t felt this happy in what seemed to be forever. He had his moments, and the past few days had been exactly that. If he hadn’t met up with Jessica tonight, he’d probably still be stuck in that pessimistic mood he’d been in for the beginning of the day. Usually, he was just the type to sulk when he was by himself, but once other people came around he was bright and cheery, putting on a mask to hide it all up. He sighed, content with the quiet of the wilderness and just the two of them talking. It was nice to be with just one person once in a while, even though he did prefer larger crowds. “You better.”
Sometimes the things Hunter said made him come off like such a jerk, but he really meant well, and most likely he didn’t mean it like the person took it. It was kind of a habit of his, getting himself into unnecessary trouble, which seemed to be something he’d been doing lately. When he was with the wrong crowd of people for too long, he tended to pick up on their way of doing things, and his words never came out like he wished they would. So, most people who relied on most impressions always wrote him off, but with a little show of what he really was like, they’d be jumping at another chance to get to know him. He could be just as arrogant and rude as the rest, but that was only once in a great while. He really was a nice guy, and tried really hard to control whatever negative feelings he might be having; however it wasn’t always that easy.
“Hey, I’m always on my best behavior,” He said defensively, grinning widely, a lot like an innocent puppy when you know it really did something. It still got him, though, why was she so concerned? Jessica was his friend, nothing more, and it was pretty obvious that she intended to keep it that way. She never seemed so touchy about the subject before, it just never seemed to bother her much, he was who he was, and he tended to be quite the flirt. Jessica knew that, there was no doubt about it, and she was just the person to tell him if she thought it was wrong or whatever.
Hunter rolled his eyes, laughing along with her. What had he just gotten himself into? Guy hated to shop, and Hunter happened to be one of those guys that despised it. He happened to be the type who liked hanging around his favorite diner; one that made the best milkshakes in town, but that was about as far as he ever got in the mall. He was lucky he didn’t have any sisters to drag him along, but then again, Jessica was a lot like a sister. “Why?” He repeated, pausing, holding back another laugh, smiling instead. “One, it’s boring, and two, I believe it’s a waste of time, and takes up space in your closet… Three, we have better things to do than waste time buying clothes we really don’t need,” He explained thoroughly, shrugging his shoulders lightly. “Why do girls like it? It’s like sports, girls don’t like it, and guys don’t like shopping,” He said plainly, knowing that there were plenty of girls that loved sports, and would gladly join a game of tackle football any day.
Jessica had a lot of nice friends, ones that he’d be glad to date or whatever, but they were a little timid when it came to guys like him. Guys like him didn’t go for very long relationships, because they didn’t last very long, and they wanted that in a guy. Also, he was a little more rowdy than they’d like, parties and such probably weren’t their idea of a good date. Well, his date had been quite… Interesting. She was a little too quiet, and he’d ended up doing most of the talking. “It’s definitely not your area of business,” He stated truthfully, cracking a half smile. “It wasn’t that bad… She just wasn’t my type,” He shrugged again, remembering the date with vivid colors. “She seemed nice, she just didn’t talk,” He added, giving her a reason to why she wasn’t exactly his type. “I must be scary, she probably figured it would rub off on you,” He suggested jokingly, laughing.
The moment Hunter met Ian; he hadn’t liked him at all, not one bit. The guy was a total player, not that he couldn’t change, but he had that aura about him that said he wasn’t about to change. Even though Jessica had said it wasn’t going to be totally serious, he worried about her. Hunter Townsend, worry? Yes, he had. That was the time period he and her father really bonded, even more than all the work they’d done together. Actually, they’d hung out almost every night she had a date with that punk, mostly because Mr. Milano wanted to know all the dirt about Ian, not that he didn’t want to spend time with his daughter’s friend. Hunter knew that type of guy, or at least the guy that liked to put on the sweet act, because that had once been him. He’d quit that, and let himself be nice for real, not some fake joke that only got the girls for a little while.
Hunter was slightly surprised at her words, realizing it hadn’t exactly come out how he’d wanted it to. “Jess, I’m sorry… I didn’t mean it like that,” He said, really meaning it for a change. He knew Wyatt only meant the best for Jessica, but you had to give her a little room to breathe. Jessica was smart, and her brother knew that, he just had to trust her. He and Wyatt didn’t exactly get along the best, so it wasn’t like he could help her out or anything. “I’d talk to him for you, but we’re not exactly on the best terms right now… And haven’t ever been, really.”

At the end of the day it all seems so hard, I need some distraction, A Beautiful release!Jessica wasn't exactly the person who enjoyed nature for the fact that she dislikes all kind of insects, it was weird for her being here, she didn't know what exactly has gotten into her and made her come here for like two or three summers in a row now, Is it because she wanted to be with Hunter or is it because she liked it here, Jessica was just clueless… it is true that her father made her come the first time but the second and third she had every right not to accept and her father didn't make her come. Actually her father wanted her to stay this summer so he and Jessica could catch up and talk, but she told him that she wanted to come here… As an excuse she told them that she wanted to keep an eye on Wyatt, although she knew that Wyatt doesn't need anyone to keep an eye on him, in the contrary Wyatt was the one who was keeping an eye on her now…
"Yeah I know you will be." Jessica said smiling softly at Hunter, She knew that he'd be at his best behavior she wasn't worried about him; she was worried that other girls wouldn't be at their best behavior around Hunter. However Jessica was confused, in the past she had told Hunter about her opinion in the girls he dated and was honest about it, if she liked the girl then she'd say that she liked her and if she didn't she'd tell him that she didn't, it was always like this. Why is it now that she's gonna start caring about who's he with, Hunter was quite a flirt and girls liked that, he was always well not always it's more like Jessica often found Hunter hanging with a girl or two, even a bunch of girls as well, she have never felt that she needed to worry about it or be so touchy whenever the subject came up. Jessica thought that this is what she was afraid of from the beginning, her feelings towards Hunter were beginning to manifest again, and they're gonna ruin the friendship, she was already getting jealous and her disliking towards the Abbott girl, all of this is like a sign that she needs to lay of and let Hunter be with whom ever he wants and for her to do the same… She takes pride in her friendship with Hunter and she wasn't about to lose this relationship because of a stupid crush.
Jessica raise both of her eyebrows in a sarcastic way when Hunter began talking about why guys doesn't like shopping, "Oh please, it's not a waste of time neither it is boring, that's just an excuse you guys use so you could stay home to watch a game or something, this is so lame." Jessica said as she pouted. "And how can you say "Clothes that you don't need" What do you even mean by that? Who doesn't need a new pair of jeans or let's say shoes, everybody needs to go shopping, it gets your mind of stuff, it's not a waste of time since you're actually buying stuff that you need, however when you come to think of it, football and watching sports are a waste of time, what do you gain from watching sports? Let me answer this you gain a few extra pounds because you can't watch football or basketball without eating and drinking…so shopping isn't the thing that's wasting time here, its sports Duh!" Jessica said talking fast enthusiastically. Jessica liked basketball and sports in general, she didn't like the sport itself as she liked getting together with her friends to watch it; it was the gathering of friends laughing, talking, watching the game excitedly that got her to like watching sports though half of the time she doesn't even understand the concept of the game… Basketball was easy to understand that's why Jessica liked the sport more than other sports such as soccer or football; she felt that those two were somehow complicated.
"Yeah, yeah not your type, no-body's your type Hunter, am beginning to think that your type don’t exist on our planet, I've never seen you with a girl who you're really interested in, in a long time, are you sure you don't wanna give me the name of the girl you're crushing on, maybe I can help." Jessica smiled at him knowing that if Hunter didn't want to give her the name then he wasn't gonna, she was just trying to tease him. Jessica laughed slightly "Rub off on me, you think?" Jessica asked teasingly.
She knew that she shouldn't have reacted coldly to what he said, "Why are you apologizing silly, I know you didn't mean it like that, I didn't want to bother you by this either." Jessica said. Jessica knew that Wyatt and Hunter didn't get along, the only time they worked together was back when she was quite a rebel, this was the only time that they did put their differences out and worked together for her. Jessica didn't know why Wyatt disliked Hunter, he always says that he knew that Hunter isn't a good guy but that wasn't the thing that Jessica saw. Jessica saw a totally different guy from the one that her brother was seeing. And she knew that if Hunter talked with Wyatt about this then it's not gonna turn out for the best, they'd end up hating each other even more, and Jessica doesn't want this to happen. She always try to get them to get along but until now she managed to do nothing about the matter but she intended to make them friends before the end of this summer. Wyatt and Hunter were two of the most favorite people in her life and she hated to lose one on the behalf of the other. "No don't talk with him, I can do that, I don’t think he'll listen, he's only protecting me I guess, it's okay really, it's annoying but am gonna have to talk with him eventually, so yeah I'll do it." Jessica said smiling.
Jessica listened, everything around them was quiet, she heard the wind blowing on the leafs rustling over, it was just like magic, When they got near the pond, at the sight of the pure water, Jessica felt thirsty, she wished that she brought something with her to drink. She knew that they'd stay here walking, talking, and basically hang around for quite a long and thought that she should've brought something with her. The sight of water and the weather also made her wanna swim. But this was a crazy idea, probably as crazy as the dancing idea that she suggested earlier… "This is magical; I could stay here in this moment forever." Jessica said softly as if she was whispering.

You know what you want, It's that burning desire.
The first year Hunter attended Brunswick; it was all on his mother’s account. He didn’t exactly trust her judgment on exciting ways to spend a summer, but he learned not to doubt her when he realized how much fun the camp actually was. From then on he just wanted to go, and his parents let him. It gave them more time to relax, not that they did much of that, but it gave them some extra working hours. Plus, they wouldn’t have to worry about any of the kids, not that they did much of that anyway when they were home. His little brother usually spent the summers with their cousins, who were kind of like a replacement for Hunter. Before Christian died, and their relationship got a little torn, the two used to spend so much time together. So, his cousins were like some kind of fill in. They had similar personalities to Hunter, but instead of drinking they preferred normal teen partying; dancing, bonfires, talking, that kind of thing. However, once good ole Hunter came around, their wild side tended to escape for a night or two.
He’d never been that relationship type of guy most girls were looking for, or at least he never wanted to be. He’d tried it before, but every time something got in the way of having some kind of real connection. One particular rumor that liked to circulate among brothers and siblings was that he couldn’t love. People looked at him like he was just wasting his time, and he should stick to the weekly relationships or whatever. He could love, and he did, he just didn’t like to show it. He’d spent one too many times giving his heart out to someone and having it torn like the wrapping paper on a child’s present on Christmas morning. Relationships just never worked for him, but perhaps he just hadn’t found that special person that made him want to try and make it work. He knew Jessica wasn’t really worried about him; there was a time and a place for things like that. However, not all other girls knew that.
Hunter didn’t like shopping because he didn’t think it was any fun, and usually it was because he was stuck shopping alone or with one of the guys that was only there to pick up girls. He had a purpose, and he wanted to get in and get out, period. The only person he’d even consider shopping with would be Jessica, because she knew how much he really hated it, and most of the time she either made it fun, or there was always some kind of reward at the end. “Last time I went shopping it wasn’t fun, so I never went back,” He said simply, proving his point that he just didn’t like shopping. “I don’t gain five pounds watching sports, because any good player goes out for a game with the team once it’s done,” He explained, knowing that Jessica had witnessed the normal routine between the basketball teams where they lived. The whole team would get together at the Townsend’s house, and then head to their backyard court for a game. “If anything, I gain five pounds from the mall’s chocolate milkshakes,” He added, laughing slightly. Everyone knew it was hard for Hunter to both gain and keep on weight, when he’d been playing both football and basketball, the coach sent him to the mall to get two milkshakes a day, just to make weight to play. "You like sports, and you know it," He teased.
“Hey, my type exists, I just haven’t found it yet,” He responded, his brow furrowing slightly. “I’m sure,” He sighed, thinking for a moment. No one would think that a guy like Hunter Townsend would be so vulnerable to real relationships, or love for that matter. He was waiting it out for that person who just made him… Him. So, maybe his type didn’t exist, the girl that made him complete, and made him laugh even when he was extremely sad. It wasn’t going to hold him back on trying to find that person, even though she could very well be standing right next to him. Jessica was right, he hadn’t been with a girl he’d really been interested in, it just happened to be one of those short relationship type things, whether the girl felt something toward Hunter or not. He was a good guy, though not many people got the chance to see that. “Have you found your type yet?” He smirked playfully, knowing that Jessica didn’t exactly have the best relationship record either, two had to play this game.
Wyatt and Hunter didn’t get along because they were surprisingly too similar, but all too different in the same sense. They had opposite opinions in how Jessica should live her life, and that really got in the way of any kind of friendship. Even as younger teens they didn’t get along, mostly because Wyatt just didn’t like what Hunter was becoming. Naturally, he didn’t let the other boy get to know him like his sister might know him, so he just shut him off. He’d written off Wyatt as any kind of friend a long time ago, and he wasn’t planning on mending that up at all. Still, if Wyatt were in trouble, Hunter would be there in a single breath, he was just that kind of guy. He knew Jessica cared about her brother, and he wasn’t about to let someone like that slip through his fingers, as long as he could help it. If Wyatt didn’t have his back, then so be it, he really didn’t need the trouble of someone breathing down his neck, waiting for him to screw things up. Part of it was his fault anyway, he didn’t put in the effort to make some kind of friendship work, so why should it? He was starting to think that maybe making friends with the kid would be a smart idea; after all, he was his best friend’s brother.
If he were home right now, or back in England, things definitely wouldn’t be this quiet. His parents would be screaming over something new, and the maids would be vacuuming to drown out the argument, leaving no peace to the rest of the house. If he were in England, then the sounds of the cars, and busy city streets would wind around him; perhaps the sounds of a local club would be the topic to listen to that night. Clubs weren’t exactly his thing anymore; ever since Christian died he’d spent time avoiding them. If the team wanted to head out for some fun, then he’d most likely come along, but he’d never go alone. Rule number one, never go anywhere alone, or you’ll be the poster child for Nothing But Trouble magazine. The wilderness was quiet, something he didn’t get a lot anywhere but here at camp. It was nice to settle down and relax for a couple of months out of the year. He glanced toward his friend as she spoke, that same gentle smile playing across his lips as he nodded in agreement. His eyes soon fell upon the pond, the smile twisting into a devious smirk. The water gently moved with the wind, the ripples so smooth they appeared to be only glass. The familiar story of how Jesus walked upon water was brought back to the Christian boy’s mind, the smirk settling heavy now as a thought crossed his mind. It was warm outside, a perfect night for a swim, even for only a little while. He glanced back to Jessica, his pace quickening slightly as they neared the water. He reached over to take her hand in his, pulling her along with him. “C’mon,” He urged, his gaze shifting from the water to her. “You wanted something crazy, so you got it,” He paused, the smirk only widening. “No excuses, let’s swim.”

No one to tell us No, or where to go, or say we're only dreaming! It's a whole new world...Jessica smiled, she knew that Hunter was teasing her; he seemed to be always in the mood for a good tease. And Jessica liked that about him. She wasn't bothered by him teasing her; she actually liked the cheerful teasing they did whenever they are together. "You got a point there, malls and shopping with no milkshakes are boring. I can't argue with you on that…however there's no winner, because in both ways there's advantages and disadvantages and I sound like an English teacher right now." Jessica nodded and giggled.
Hunter knew that Jessica wasn't good in relationships as well, she always confide in him and told him about her problems with guys, she was quiet a flirt, she liked boys and of course they did like her back… She's been asked out so many times but somehow Jessica was as bad in this whole dating game as Hunter was. She laughed slightly at the look of his brow furrowing. "So she exists ha? Why don't I believe you?" Jessica said raising an eye brow at him… Jessica looked him in the eyes as he asked her if she have found her type. "Well I have found Mr. he thinks he's cuter than me, Mr. I'm so hot, Mr. I think you need to scoot so I can look at myself and admire god's gift and finally Mr. who gives a new meaning to pig, so no I guess I haven't found my Mr. right yet." Jessica said smiling, "I think my Mr. right will come along with your Mrs. Right, lets just hope that they don’t fall in love with each other, or we're gonna be left alone…again!" Jessica said jokingly.
Jessica noticed that they were quickening toward the Pond, Jessica looked at Hunter and their was this devious smirk on his face, Jessica figured that Hunter was up to something, and by the look of where they were heading she knew that it's going to be a crazy thing. For a moment there Jessica thought that Hunter was joking, she waited for him to say something else other than that like "Oh yeah am just kidding." Or something like that but he didn’t… He just stood there with a smirk oh his face that seemed to be widening as he looked at her… Jessica's eyes shifted between the pond and his cheerful face, how can she say no to him, she can't… Jessica wanted to swim, she thought it was a crazy thing to do, it was the middle of the night and they're out past their bedtime, sneaking out, if a councilor caught them it wouldn't look good. Her eyes fell upon the moon and the way it glistened across the water. It was beautiful, truly beautiful… Jessica was actually ready for the occasion, she didn't expect herself to be swimming in the middle of the night but thank god she already wore her pink bikini this morning under her skirt and her tight white tank top, and because she didn't have the chance to actually change before sneaking out to meet Hunter she remained wearing those clothe. Although she had in mind to change them and get into something more comfortable but because she was in a hurry to sneak out so she don't get caught she remained in her usual outfit the one that she was dressed in at the moment… "Are you serious? What if we get caught?" Jessica said thinking about it, she really wanted to do this, just forget about everything even the consequences for if they were caught. She honestly didn't care. "You know what I don’t care about that, am gonna take your advice and do something crazy without thinking and reading to much into it. So you are ready?" Jessica said as her smile now widened and her dimples were obviously shown now. She pulled her hands away from his and took of her white tank top revealing her pink bikini bra and then pushed the waistband of her skirt down and bent at the waist as she stepped out of it revealing her pink bikini bottom. She folded her skirt and shed it to the ground to where she shed her tank top first, and then she bent over to take off her sandals. Jessica was doing this fast for the fact that if she hesitated then she would have second thoughts and she didn't want to have those right now. She looked at Hunter smiling, "Come on, what are you waiting for? Do you think the water is cold?" Jessica said with a frown thinking that the weather was actually warm. Jessica stepped closer and was ready to dive into the water, she looked at Hunter urging him move faster with her eyes.

C'mon, smile for me, Make my life worthwhile.
Hunter just didn’t like shopping, if he needed clothes, then fine, he’d be out in a second. He always thought there were better things to do when the action became only a habit and a way to pass time. However, appearance was important to him, so he needed to put in at least a little effort to look good. “Tell you what, I’ll go shopping with you, as long as we stop for milkshakes after,” He said, a happy smile forming. Chocolate and ice cream were two major food weaknesses, and once offered, he’d do about anything for you.
Part of the reason he never did very well in relationships, was that he wasn’t totally interested in the girl. Sure, he might have been at the start, but once he got to know her, the interest seemed to have dwindled down. He knew that once he found the person that he really just wanted to know everything about, he’d be set. Jessica was one of those people, making it harder to fight those strange recurring feelings. “Hmm, maybe because I keep saying that, and it has yet to come true?” He laughed, shaking his head lightly. Each time the subject came up, he said he was going to find her, and Jessica only liked to tease him about it. But he could help but wonder if the reason was that he’d already found her, and that person was standing right next to him. “You know who I liked? That kid from eighth grade… Mike, or whatever? He was a keeper,” Hunter joked sarcastically, bringing up the classic kid, one of the jocks from their grade level. He’d hated the guy from the start, he was cocky, and seemed to have everything, but come to find out, he couldn’t hold his own in a fight… Well, that was after Hunter found out what a jerk the kid was, and took the matter into his own hands. Supposedly the kid was going out with three girls at the same time, one being Jessica. Of course, Hunter pounded the kid into the ground, and shortly after beat him in a one on one game of basketball. Those were the days.
He hadn’t exactly come fully prepared for swimming, but it was all in the moment, wasn’t it? The chances of getting caught were pretty slim, all counselors tended to keep to their cabins at this time of night, and the staff were enjoying the TV they had. Plus, they weren’t planning on making too much noise, so there was no harm in having a little fun, right? He glanced to Jessica, seeing the look on her face, which caused him to smile. She obviously thought he was only joking, even though he loved swimming, but still, he was never one that just brought it up out of nowhere. He was good at coming up with things to do, and this was definitely a better one. Swimming at night was one of his favorite activities, something he’d done ever since he was a kid. They had a pond out back of their house, and every night he’d bypass the pool and go straight to the pond, swimming under the stars. It was nice, not that he was swimming alone, one of the dogs always came along.
“Yes, I’m serious. And don’t worry about it. Honestly, have you ever gotten caught with me? If you have, we’ve never gotten in trouble, because lucky me knows how to talk my way out of things like that,” He said reassuringly, nodding just to prove his point. People just seemed to like Hunter, the eyes and the smile were that of some little cute puppy’s, not even a counselor could turn down. He hadn’t been caught at camp yet, at home, sure, but getting away with things was easy for him, it always was. “I’m ready,” He responded, already beginning to pull his t-shirt over his head. The material cleared in time to catch the cute little dimples of hers as she smiled, and he soon smiled as well.
You could say that he was surprised when he saw that Jessica was in fact wearing her bikini, because they never really planned going swimming, it just sort of happened. There were times when she’d swam in nothing but her bra and panties, mostly when it was one of those parties at Hunter’s when everyone snuck down to the pond. Hunter hadn’t been so fortunate to come dressed in his swim trunks, not that he minded swimming in his boxers anyway. He and Jessica were good enough friends to where it didn’t matter; fun was their ultimate goal. Finally, he pulled off his jeans, tossing them in the pile with the rest of his things, including his sneakers and a favorite sweatshirt he’d brought along. Hunter wasn’t so hesitant in waiting to see if the water was cold or not, because it was summer, the water was sure to be warm. That was proven, because once he got closer he could see the steam rising from the water, showing that it was warmer in there than outside in the cool air. “No second thoughts,” He urged, wading into the water, surprised at how warm it actually was. Turning to face her, he splashed playfully in her direction, the water closing in around him, continuing until it got to submerge his shoulders.

Close your eyes and lose the feeling that’s been sinking, Close your eyes and count to three... Jessica actually liked shopping, like many girls as herself shopping was a good thing that girls did whenever they felt like having fun, Jessica wouldn't go as making it a priority, she liked buying new clothes and new shoes and like Hunter said you can't go to the mall without getting one of those chocolate milkshakes that everybody liked, even her step-mother who's a former model and now owns a modeling agency likes those milkshakes, she calls it the guilty pleasure. Jessica usually hangout with her friends at the mall, they don’t necessarily need to be there for shopping, they could just hangout there and see what's new, they might end up buying new boots or sandals but that wasn't the point, the point is that girls went to the mall to have sometime for themselves, just to have girls time and nothing else. Olivia also likes to go shopping or go to the mall with Jessica, they always seem to get along on one thing while there; Milkshakes, Yeah whenever Olivia and Jessica goes to the mall their first stop would be to get chocolate milkshakes and then they'd hit the shops and actually do the shopping. "Sounds fair…so since we're stopping for milkshakes I will make it fun I promise… It'll be so totally worth it…" Jessica said excitedly smiling at Hunter.
Jessica remembered Mike; she couldn't believe that Hunter still remembers the guy She forgot all about him until Hunter brought it up, Mike was her 8th grade crush, they were only 13 years old, Jessica's dad told her that she wasn't allowed to be dating guys yet, but she didn't listen and she went out with Mike without her father knowing about it, no wonder Hunter hate it the guy and when he found out that the guy was a somehow a player he got into a fight with him, Jessica loved Hunter that day he was her hero. Jessica also started liking basket ball ever since Hunter did beat that guy Mike. "Oh yeah Mike, he was a keeper." Jessica said sighing and blinking her eyes in a dreamy way…Jessica giggled as she looked at him "Well look who's talking, I mean come on, it's not like you had better luck in the matter anyway…" Jessica said.
Swimming was Jessica's favorite sport growing up, she liked to swim, whenever she had the chance Jessica goes to the beach with her friends, or even alone, but that wasn't all the time, whenever her friends were busy to go with her she just called Hunter and he'd be the one going with her to the beach, they swim, surf, and do so much fun stuff. Never there was a dull moment with Hunter. Jessica smiled at him "I haven't get caught yet…but there's a time for everything…right!" Jessica said deviously and her smile widened. Jessica was always believed to be the little innocent girl who don’t sneak out and do bad stuff, they always expected that she was just so sweet and couldn't break the rules even if she wanted to, part of that was true, Jessica was the innocent girl but she liked also to go out and break the rules every once in a while, after all rules are meant to be broken.
Jessica was familiar to the idea of Hunter swimming with his boxers, being unprepared for such a thing never have stopped them before, it was normal for her to even swim with her bra and panties and she did it so many times. Nothing could've actually stopped the two from doing what they set their mind on doing. Jessica dove into the water right behind Hunter, the water was actually warm. "No second thoughts…" Jessica said replying when a splash of water came towards her, Jessica laughed and splashed back in Hunter's direction. Jessica flipped her hair to get it away from her face and gave Hunter a sweet smile. "Glad I didn't have a second thought…" Jessica said she splashed more water toward Hunter's direction… Hunter's back was in her face she stepped closer in the water and locked her hands on his neck as if she was hugging him and leaned to whisper in his ear, "What are you thinking about?" Jessica whispered softly in his ears as she let go of his neck and looked at him…

It starts in my soul, And I lose all control.
Hunter’s time was normally spent playing basketball, every waking moment that he had of time without other people he spent on the courts. Since his grades didn’t exactly measure up, he had to make sure his game was at its best, just so he could secure a spot on the team for college. His entire future was riding on his basketball career, talk about pressure. His father would kill him if he didn’t get into college, Townsend children didn’t fail, not in all the string of them there was accumulating the earth. Even though he disliked his father, he still wanted to please him; there was no doubt about it. Christian had been the star child to them, and he’d never gotten a lot of the recognition. Now, he wanted to make both his brother and his parents proud, it was just a matter of working hard. If he could help the high school team win undefeated this year, and please the scouts, college would come easily, possibly on a full scholarship. He planned on making something of himself, even if it took a lot of work to get there. He had a good head on his shoulders, with a good chunk of money stashed away from his years back in England. He planned on going to school for business management, just incase his childhood dream of making it to the NBA didn’t work out. “It better be,” He mumbled, though was somewhat curious to how their little shopping trip would plan out.
He remembered everything, including scrawny little Mike. Respect went a long way with Hunter, and when someone trashed that of one of his best friends, you should know that there would be hell to pay. He’d never been big on beating people up, but when the opportunity arose, he took all matters into his own hands. Hunter remembered how much he hated Mike, and how he thought he was the best thing ever to set foot on the planet. So, he’d shown him that he wasn’t anything to be proud of, and from then on no one really idolized Mike, they idolized him. He didn’t exactly want it that way, it just sort of happened. One day he was the pretty girl’s sidekick, and the next he was their new leader of a sort. Even today, Mike was struggling to find his place in high school society, but he wasn’t going to get it. The kid hung out with all the rest of the kids who seemed to have made their way to the bottom, and were still trying to get back up there, but as long as guys like Hunter worked the school, that wasn’t going to happen. “I guess,” He shrugged, a smile forming. “He didn’t have a chance, anyway.”
Besides basketball, swimming was one of his favorite sports. He spent a lot of time in the water, and a lot of time at the beach. Usually he didn’t have a lot of time to spend at the beach, but when he did, he took the opportunity to go. If he wasn’t spending time for himself, he was working. Work was important to him, and he liked it. His father always needed a hand with the restaurants, and when he wasn’t waiting on tables there, he was fixing up cars. Cars had always been a hobby of his, but he’d never considered it an actual prospect for a job, he did it for fun. “That time’s not now,” He paused, grinning slightly. “We’re not getting caught.”
He glanced behind him as she dove in; glad she hadn’t decided to back out. She wasn’t one to turn down a swim, that he knew. He turned to face her, clearly at the wrong time, because she directed a splash towards him. The water completely drowned his face and chest, the droplets glistening in the moonlight. The moment her second splash came, he ducked under the water, getting some of it, but missing some as well. The water completely surrounded him now, unseen to everything but touch. Within a moment, he made his way over to where Jessica stood, silently lifting her onto his shoulders. Strength was always on Hunter’s side, not that she was even heavy to lift. The movement could be related to a verbal tease, because after being in such warm water, the air would be freezing to a wet body. After a short period of time, he sunk down into the water, releasing her from his grip, allowing her to get warm again. As she rose, he felt her arms wrap around his neck, a shiver coursing through his body. It was impossible to be cold, even chilled, the water was much too warm. The shiver was exactly the same to the one Jessica had had before, and suddenly Hunter grew slightly worried that she’d pick up on it. Surely she had to of felt it, her figure was pressed firmly against his. Once she released him, he turned to face her, big mistake. Hunter couldn’t lie, or at least his eyes couldn’t. At the moment, they showed exactly what he was feeling, and exactly what he was thinking, he didn't even bother speaking, or couldn't, rather. She knew that look, she had to, it was the only one he ever tried to hide, but the cover was blown. Could Hunter Townsend possibly love?

I've been patient for so long, How Can I pretend to be so strong, Looking at you and feeling you… Maybe it's everything we're dreaming of, We've waited long enough…Jessica laughed at the sight of Hunter's face all wet because of her little splash, as she directed the second splash towards him she laughed again at the site of him trying to dodge to avoid the second splash and he sorta succeeded in doing so as he ducked under water; Jessica was having the time of her life, she was laughing from her heart. Jessica could feel the warmth of water; it was relaxing to every muscle in her body, Jessica flipped her long brown hair over her shoulder. She smiled and ran her slender digits through her hair as her hair ran past her shoulders and sat there like pieces of strings. All of a sudden Jessica felt her muscles tighten up as she was now hanging in the air as Hunter was lifted her up onto his shoulders, she let out a yell, her muscles tightened up because of the wind, she was freezing, she started tapping gently on Hunter's shoulders. "Hunter put me down it's freezing…" Jessica said giggling. As he sunk down into the water releasing her from his grip, Jessica dunked her head in the water, and then flipped her hair over her shoulders again. "Hunter Townsend…" Jessica said with a loud voice, causing his name to echo in the silent wilderness. She turned her head around and with a lower voice this time she said. "What were you thinking, this was so cruel…I'll get back at you Mister." Jessica giggled. As Jessica wrapped her arms around his neck she felt that he shivered which caused her to release him, she wondered what was that about, the water was already warm… Jessica felt awkward, when she shivered earlier she knew what was it about, she couldn't help but to wonder if that was the same thing, or if Hunter shivered just like that… When he turned to face her, she froze, there was something in his eyes that made her completely stunned, Jessica's thoughts stopped, it's like her mind was empty, no thoughts, memories or anything it was plainly empty. Jessica kept eyeing Hunter, if eyes could actually talk; Jessica felt that they would be the ones doing all the talking. Their eyes were speaking. Her eyes were betraying her and revealing more than Jessica wanted, revealing something that Jessica tried to hide for so long, should she thank her eyes or try to live in denial like she's been doing ever since she had this crush on Hunter. Jessica's eyes sparkled, And somehow in this moment Jessica had this really strong feeling, and she figured out the answer to the unknown question that she didn't know before… Jessica felt awkward, she didn't know what to say or what to do, it was almost like someone froze the time and they were frozen now in front of each other. Everything seemed to be so quite and silence spread over surrounding them, nothing could be heard but the sound of water rippling around and the two of them breathing heavily. Jessica waited for Hunter to say anything, she wanted him to talk or say anything. Is this look what she thought it is, is it the same as the look that she was trying to hold back and hide, is he feeling the same, millions of questions occurred to Jessica's mind right now… Although she figured out one thing at the moment, she figured that she doesn't want leave it like this, she doesn't wanna leave the words unspoken, her eyes did their role, now it was time for her to do the rest. It was time for words to be told, it was time to let it all out and not leave things untold... All of a sudden Jessica felt that this was the right thing to do, she didn't know what to say or what to do else. Jessica let her arms lay on Hunter's shoulders wrapping it around his neck as she leaned in to kiss him; Jessica pressed her lips on his kissing him passionately. Her hair flew to the side of his head. Jessica then out of breath pulled away from him and just looked at him in the eyes waiting for him to react.

I swear I'd burn this filthy city down just to show you the light.
The Hunter/Jessica relationship had always been quite childish, they just happened to click that way. Normally, Hunter was the most serious person you’d ever meet, but once he was around Jessica, it was like he was a totally different person. Sure, he was serious when the time was right, but never when he was allowed to crawl out of his shell. She had a way of getting him just where he needed to be, relaxed, gentle, sweet, and fun. It was just what he needed tonight, a little brightening up, and relaxation. Swimming was the perfect medicine for such an ailment as his, and the warm water was a plus in his book. He laughed at Jessica’s response to the cold air, quickly giving in and letting her back into the water. He knew it was freezing, it was just one of those extra teases added in for some playful fun. He didn’t doubt the fact that she was going to get back at him he believed it. Everything he’d ever done to her had been dutifully repaid, just like he’d do if she’d done something like that. Their friendship was always like that, whether or not it was related to fun. If she helped him out, he was going to help her out, not that they counted, but both carried equal weight in making things work. It made for an argument free relationship, something that was pretty important when you were friends with Hunter. Fights weren’t exactly something you wanted to get into, his temper tended to get the best of him sometimes, and things were said that he really didn’t mean. It wasn’t that they didn’t have those kinds of fights, they did, it just didn’t end so seriously.
When his name echoed, he pressed his forefinger to her lips, a half smile taking place. “Shh! Are we aiming to get caught?” He asked playfully, letting his hand drop back down beside him, tracing his fingers along the top of the water, watching it all ripple. “It wasn’t cruel… It was amusing,” He correcting, holding back a laugh of some sort. It was probably pretty hard to get caught out here, so he wasn’t really worried about that, he was more worried about how they were going to get back without freezing to death. Being wet in the woods wasn’t the best combination; it was always cold, no matter what. He had a feeling she was going to sense the shiver, and she did, because she pulled back almost immediately after. If that hadn’t blown his cover, than his eyes definitely would. His next mistake had been actually turning to face her. His lips might be able to lie, but not his eyes, they were like a book of untold secrets, giving out what you hoped to keep unseen. He forced himself to focus on something else, perhaps change the feeling radiating throughout him, causing his eyes to adjust accordingly. However, he had a feeling it just didn’t work.
The moment he looked away he regretted it, it would make things even more awkward, something he really didn’t want. She’d seen it, she had to of seen it, how could you miss it when it was right in front of you? He glanced back to Jessica, finally letting himself look her in the eye. It was out, and there was nothing he could do about it. Something kept him there though, looking straight on into what looked to be a slight sparkle. Did she feel the same? Curiosity replaced all earlier worry, and he seemed to search her own eyes for the answer. In the same sense, he wanted to shrink up to nothing and hide in a corner, not that Hunter would do such a thing, but he felt it. He was a confident kid, things like that didn’t shake him easily. However, the potential of their friendship hung in the air, and it would be his fault. What could he say to change it all? There were a million words he could think of, ways to get him out of the situation, and try to come up with some kind of reason to cover everything up.
He’d screwed up, and he’d admit to it. If he hadn’t turned around, none of it would have happened. Everything would be normal, and he’d lie about what he’d been thinking. He’d laugh about his real thoughts, thinking it was just some stupid fairy tale that only God knew the outcome. If only he’d been so smart, and listened to himself during times like that.
Almost immediately he relaxed as her arms slid around his neck, and for once he didn’t shiver. What came next slightly surprised him, they’d always been friends, nothing else, but was that about to change? The moment her lips touched his, he reacted, his own kiss filled with the same passion. That’s when he realized how quiet everything was, but how loud the air could get when thoughts and feelings mixed. His eyes met hers once they parted, and a sweet smile took form, his eyes glistening ever so slightly with the same sparkle hers held. Silently, he allowed his right hand to travel upward, his fingers gently brushing her cheek. With the same desire, his lips met hers again, this time a tender, reassuring kiss.

In a way I know my heart is waking up, As all the walls come tumbling down!Everything was revealed now, although they didn't speak, they didn't say anything to each other, but Jessica was relieved, she didn't know what to say, If Hunter actually spoke Jessica wouldn't know what to say, at the moment she wasn't thinking about anything but the kiss, the thing that she initiated… Jessica wasn't sure that it was the right thing to do, for the fact that Hunter was her best friend. Jessica would hate it is she lost Hunter and their whole friendship because of this. Hunter and Jessica's relationship is strong, almost everyone who knows them envied them for such a friendship…Her friends envied her, they always tell her how she and Hunter have this weird chemistry and attraction, Jessica would be lying to herself if she said that she wasn’t' attracted to him, because she is, However Jessica's confusion melted down when Hunter kissed her back passionately. And every negative thought about this and everything against this faded away and flew away from her mind.
Jessica wasn't such a good person when it comes to relationships and Jessica was afraid that she was going to screw everything up because it's not like she wasn't ready, she was but the thing is she didn't know why that every relationship she's been through ended in a somehow painful way either for her or for the other person. And Jessica didn't want this to happen to her and Hunter. It wasn't like they're going steady now but the whole idea of her and Hunter was intimidating… He was her best friend, the one who she could actually talk to about serious stuff and yet have fun, the one who can make her laugh and the one who she can act normal or crazy in front of him and he'd do the same. She can't get involve with him; she can't afford to lose the only guy who she knew will always be there for her. Millions of questions and thoughts ran in her mind now, she wondered what was Hunter thinking about everything that did just happen?
The minute Jessica wrapped her arms around Hunter's neck she knew that things will never be the same between them anymore, it was really awkward, as thrilled as she was she was also worried about it, million questions of what ifs were running through her mind when she kissed him, she could've made a joke about it when he turned to face her but it was too late, Jessica couldn't hide it anymore, she felt like it was the right thing so even if it wasn't really the right thing it was already done. Jessica couldn't joke about it and live with that what if question, what if she kissed him so she just did it, and she was glad that she did.
When Hunter kissed her back as passionate as her kiss was, everything around them faded, she was so caught up in the moment. Her body felt so warm, her heat was pounding like crazy she felt that it was going to rip her ribs and get out. Jessica's fear was mixed with her feelings, doubt, confusion, worrying, love, and hundreds of feelings; they were all mixed up together inside of her as their kiss continued. She smiled sweetly at him when they parted and saw his smile, her heart trembled. As she looked him in the eyes, she felt like they shared the same thoughts, the same concerns, the same mixed feelings…
Her body trembled underneath his touch. As his lips met hers again this time with a tender and reassuring kiss, she kissed him back. She let her arms travel to wrap his neck once again, this time playing with his hair as they kissed, she pulled away this time just to tease him, and as she pulled away she blushed, she was embarrassed, she didn't know why but her checks turned red as her heart pounded faster than ever, she couldn't tell if Hunter could actually see her checks blushing. "You know something…." Jessica paused as she sighed, she didn’t know what to say to break the awkwardness of the moment, she would do almost anything to know what is Hunter thinking about at this moment. What was he thinking about the whole situation they were in! "Hunter, what are you thinking about now honestly?" Jessica said in a low voice, she didn't know what to say so she thought that she would just be honest. Hunter wouldn't have kissed her back if his feelings weren't like hers, he wouldn't have responded to her kiss and then kissing her back tenderly as he did. OOC: Sorry it's kinda bad but I have no muse today...

We can live in fear, Or extend our selves to love.
There it was; it was out. Everything that had been building within him for the past however many years just sort of exploded, and he had no way of stopping it. When did it start, you might ask? A simple childhood crush when they’d met, that whole ‘she’s pretty’ kind of thing, but then it developed into something more than that as the years went on. He started wondering whether he felt something more for the girl? He’d finally buried all his feelings besides friendship towards the girl at one of his father’s parties. That’s when she’d been going out with Ian, and he remembered himself thinking of how they could never be anything more than friends, everything would be at stake, and he didn’t want to risk all that. He’d gone through the night greeting people, avoiding Jessica as much as he could, just to reprimand himself for ever thinking that he could feel any more for her. The truth was, he couldn’t change how he felt, it was just there, and he had to live with it.
The thing that worried him the most was of his past. If they developed into that ‘something more’, how would he deal with it? Each and every time before something went wrong, and he didn’t know how to deal with it, so he bailed out. He knew he just couldn’t do that with Jessica, to Jessica. He couldn’t hurt her like that it was almost physically impossible. Whether it was worry or nerves, he knew it just couldn’t be done. They’d worked hard for this friendship, they couldn’t possibly afford a simple screw up like this might become. However, the single thought of it not being the way he was suddenly picturing it. They’d patched things up before, so what was so different about it now? He knew the difference, and that’s what had him going about it. There was a big step between being friends and being in some sort of relationship, all the feelings and emotions were complicated, like a ticking time bomb waiting to happen. Hunter just happened to be one of those bombs, and every time he managed to get so close, he just blew.
It was a relief to know that she felt the same, or at least he thought she did. Of course, because she’d kissed him first, and she wouldn’t have done that if it didn’t mean anything. They were in it together now, whether they wanted to be or not. Things weren’t going to be the same anymore, and he certainly hoped things wouldn’t be just plain awkward. He knew the feeling, or at least he’d lived it. He’d had a friend like Jessica before, but come to find out, their friendship wasn’t strong enough to last through even the moment he and Jessica had just shared. So, it ended, the entire friendship and everything, for a while at least. It wasn’t until he turned sixteen did they finally talk again, and they were friends now, and managed to patch things up. They had a long way from where they had once been, but it was certainly a start.
He didn’t want things to be like they were with that other friend of his, he didn’t think he could handle that again. His life would just end without Jessica there, all the nights he called her when he was bored and just needed someone to talk to, or the mornings where he just wanted company when he ate breakfast, because the house was lonely without his brother around… She was always there, for every small need of his that needed a little help. How would life be without someone like that?
The moment she pulled back he figured he’d judged wrong, and had just screwed everything up, but once he caught the look on her face he could tell she was only teasing. Relief coursed through his veins, and the same warming smile crossed his lips. His eyes picked up on the heat creeping on her cheeks, wondering why she was embarrassed. His head tilted slightly as she first spoke, a questionable look overcoming him. Soon he realized it was just something added to break through the silence, and he settled in. He didn’t know what to say himself, what were you supposed to say in a moment like this? Her next question brought his attention back to reality, and he shrugged, but was prepared to tell her truthfully what he was thinking about. “Honestly?” He repeated, giving himself a moment to actually think of something appropriate. “That I’m glad it happened and that we know where we stand, it gets things out there, you know?” He paused again, glancing back up to the sky, but within a second his gaze was back to her again. “But then I try and think of where we are right now, and I don’t know…” He broke off, "That scares me," He admitted, knowing it wasn't often that something scared him, actually, it was more along the lines of never. He dropped his gaze to the water, and then reverted it back to her. “Where do we stand in all this?”

You don't say it, But it's in your eyes, All the fears of good-bye, But I can promise, You'll always have a place, and a way to my heart! She had no idea where was this going, it is such a paradox; when you wanna be with someone so bad and at the same time you afraid you're gonna screw it all up and destroy such a great friendship! But why was she assuming that their relationship would be ruined, why is she assuming that she'll screw it up? Is Hunter going to hurt her, no she doubt that he would, is things going to work out between them? She's not quite sure, is there a future for their relationship, is it going to exist and see the sun light? That she couldn't answer, Are they going to be together and everything gonna work out for them? Maybe! The bottom line is there are so many questions to be asked but all the answers will be vague, they can't predict the future, and they can't assume that their friendship will be lost because of this, they don't know anything…
They're not psychics therefore there's no use in standing here looking at each other wondering whether to go through with this or not! Jessica believed that they ought to give it a chance, see where this might take them; they owe it to themselves to be happy and try this out, and not worry about the consequence, even if anything happened in the future that doesn't mean that they wouldn't be friends anymore! They'll always be friends no matter what, being with Hunter in a relationship or being with Hunter and having him as a friend who'll always be there at her side; either ways they're always gonna be there for each other and Hunter will always be the first person she'd turn to if anything happened with her.
Everyone around them was falling in love, they were also but didn't admit it up until now, Jessica knew in her heart that she always had feelings for Hunter, but she buried it away, and now that everything was revealed why not make the most of it and see how will it turn out, it was kinda her fault, Jessica knew better then to keep her feeling locked inside of her, but her father always say that good things come to those who wait, and Jessica waited long enough and hoped that the outcome would be good. She knew exactly what was going on inside of her, as her heart trembled and pounded, as she got this really strange feeling in his stomach and the way that she actually gathered the courage to kiss him, all of those things lead to one thing that Jessica was really in love with Hunter… Only then did she understand why she got upset when he told her about how should she date guys from around the camp, only then she figured out that her love for Hunter was inside of her for such along time without even realizing it. Can she go further by calling it love? Actually she can because in this moment she actually feels that Hunter has gotten her head over heels.
Jessica kept eyeing him as she flipped her hair; a strand of hair fell messily on her face so she tucked it behind her ears. She looked at Hunter's warm smile, she figured that he have picked up on her little tease that's why he was smiling. Now that time was passing Jessica is loving the way Hunter was making her feel, it's as thought the kiss opened up a whole new world in front of her, a world where her emotions felt free and her heart went out of control.
Jessica stared back at Hunter waiting for him to say something in response, when he said "Honestly." Jessica nodded with a smile on her face, she couldn't wipe away that smile off of her face, it was a though as her heart was the one smiling, and thrilled about the whole situation. Jessica stepped closer again and reached for his hands, as she took his hands in hers she lifted it up and put it on her chest so that he could feel her heart. "can you tell me what you're feeling?" Jessica paused for a second, "I'm scared too…I can't say am not intimidated by the whole thing because I am." she continued. Staring back at his blue eyes, "Where do we stand, I actually don't know, all I know is at this very moment I can live forever in your eyes." Jessica paused, she wanted to get it all out, she wanted to say everything; the feelings inside her were just too strong for her to hide. But she thought that she doesn't wanna scare him off by revealing everything now… "What about you? What are you feeling? And where in your opinion do you think we stand?" Jessica said…

Grant my last request, and just let me hold you.
What had they gotten themselves into? The single thought lingered in his mind, captivating his attention for the time to come. He could almost see the day when it would all crumble down, yes, it had happened every single time before, this time was no different. It was a mess, this game they played, and Hunter was one God-awful player. It was like Monopoly, you could keep all your money, and not by properties, and you’d come out on the bottom. On the other hand, you could spend all your money on properties, but end up going bankrupt each time you landed on the other person’s squares. Both ways you lost, and that’s what he was afraid of. They were seventeen, how could they possibly make a relationship work? Hunter couldn’t remember a relationship of his ever lasting any more than a month; actually, it hadn’t even been that, three weeks was about the limit. He wasn’t good with them, end of story.
He couldn’t ever bear to be the guy she was crying over, and even worse, he’d have a million people on his ass about it if he ever hurt her. But the more reassuring thought was that he wasn’t going to hurt her, because he’d never aim to. The thoughts were still uneasily settling in the pit of his stomach, feeling like a cement block just sitting there, rotting away. Part of him want to go through with it, but the other was backing away furiously, simply telling him what a bad idea it was. However, had he ever truly listened to himself before? Hunter was the kind of guy they went for things, and didn’t care of the consequences. This was Jessica he was talking about, and the circumstances were much different. She was different from all the other girls he’d ever been with, much different.
Would everything be the same if they actually went through with it? He knew it would be, besides the few extra benefits of being in a relationship. They’d still be there for each other, and would still spend all their time together. He knew they could do everything they already did, but he couldn’t help but to feel badly about the situation. It would be a big change for him, actually being with a girl he liked, it would be much different. Normally a relationship consisted of just the benefits, not the friendship aspect of everything. He’d always thought feelings were too deep to pursue, so he normally stuck with the ‘friends with benefits’ type of relationship, but the friends part just never seemed to work out. Either you were friends, or you were something physically more, not both. He didn’t go around changing, and he definitely wouldn’t, not even being with Jessica. It had been what he’d been about for too long, and one couldn’t get out of such a habit. However, he figured if he put effort into a relationship, commitment would come easily, and he’d no longer have to worry about which girl he’d be spending time with. Jessica knew how bad he was with relationships, and what the standards and rules were when he was with a girl, benefits included, friends excluded. A thought came to mind; why would she ever want to be with him? What sense of pride and satisfactory would you get out of it?
Jessica knew him, and that comforted his feelings somewhat. She knew what he was like, and had a taste of pretty much all his personalities, so there weren’t any surprises in that area, a certain good thing. Hunter was pretty different from all the guys she’d pretty much dated, he was sweet, but quite the ass when he wanted to be, like the rest of the guys she seemed to fall for. The thing that worried him most was how much of an ass he could be, because it was there, he couldn’t exactly bury that. What would happen if he turned out to be like those other guys?
Most of him was afraid, but more afraid for her than anything. This was Hunter they were talking about, he wasn’t a relationship guy, he was, well, him. He never got close with girls, none of them it was all too complicated. The same thought pestered him, and he began to wonder what If he did hurt her. The possibility was slim, but still, he was him. Before he could really get a chance to think his words through, they came tumbling out. It wasn’t the question he’d planned to ask, it wasn’t what he’d planned to share. “I’ll admit to it, I’m scared,” He paused, sighing deeply. “I’m me, I can’t exactly change to make things work,” He pointed out, knowing how true it was. He could try to change, but how much use would that be? Knowing you were going to fail wasn’t exactly the most reassuring thought. Her last strand of questions forced him to think, maybe he should just spill all the negative thoughts out, get her opinion on it. “If we did go through with it, what happens when things don’t work out? I don’t want to be that guy that hurts you.”

Is it over before starting? Is it right or is it wrong? Is it real or it's just a dream? It is the right thing to do?! Maybe you are the one who's right!Jessica wasn't so happy with his answer, she actually had the courage to kiss him, but now the courage she had before seemed to be betraying her, she was afraid of the things that might happen, she thought that being friends with Hunter was the best thing that ever happened to her and like him she was afraid that if they did go through with it and it didn't work out then there's so much at stakes here. She can't assume that things between them will go bad and they'd actually hurt each other but still it was a possibility… How is she going to make him understand that they wouldn't know if they didn't take the chance to see how it's going to turn out; but it's not like she was sure as well, at the same time she did understand his reasons, because even though she wanted them to try it out and see how it will turn, she was afraid that if things went bad then they're never going to be the same again, not like they are now… She even doubt that things will be the same after the revelations that took part tonight, she kissed him and he kissed her back, and it wasn't like they're friends with benefits, this kiss will actually change things between them even if there's a mild change it's still going to be a change… Jessica wished that she had the answers to everything so she could just see how this will turn to be, she also wished that Hunter could actually confide in her and tell her everything that was bothering him, because she is still here for him, she didn't want things to be awkward now that she kissed him, she wanted him to remain the same old Hunter that she knows, and she wanted to be the same Jessica around him… Maybe it was for the best if they didn't go through with it, maybe Hunter is right!
Jessica thought that the fact that Hunter was her friend, and knows everything about her would make things easier, Isn't this what every girl looks for in a guy? Hunter knows everything about her, he knows what food she likes, he knows her favorite color, he knows when she's upset, he knows how to make her laugh, he knows how to tease her and she knows these stuff about him as well, isn't this the foundation of the perfect relationship? Too many questions so little time, obviously Hunter was having second thoughts and she was as well but she needed to act fast, there's no time, she knew that if she actually waited more to think about this then she's gonna have cold feet and she'll burry her feelings once again and start acting normal around him, she'll pretend to be normal about it though, at least when those feelings surfaced before she was able to burry it and go on with her life because she didn't tell him about it and she didn't kiss him, but now that she did kiss him and everything was revealed she knew that she can't just act "normal" in front of him again, it'll always be awkward between them, at least for the next few days or weeks…
Jessica looked at Hunter as he spoke, she smiled at him innocently, "I know you are you, but do you think that this is a problem, I mean come on you are you and I like you for who you are, I don’t want you to change…" Jessica said still eyeing the guy; She didn't want him to change, Jessica knows that everyone is gonna be against this if they did go through with it, the first one who'll actually get angry at her is Wyatt, he never liked Hunter, although Hunter and Wyatt were alike in so many ways, and that's the reason why they don't like each other, Wyatt will be warning her about him, but she also knows that Hunter would never hurt her and she'll never hurt him… Jessica pushed those ideas away, it wasn't time to think about Wyatt now or anyone else for that matter but her and Hunter, "You know Hunter, you are totally right, maybe it's just a fling, forget about it…" Jessica said smiling as she turned her back, "So do you wanna race me, I bet that am gonna win, so on the count of three will start, one…" Jessica said cheerfully as she swam getting away from him… It wasn't in her intentions to joke about this, but if Hunter didn't feel it was the right thing then as his friend she'll just try her best to forget all about it and be only his best friend as they always were…
Everything was just so complicated now, Jessica was never interested in any kind of physical relationship with any guy and when she thought that she was ready with Ian, then nothing happened and she found out about him being a player, she was then relieved that nothing did happen between them, she didn’t want to regret it, she wanted the right thing… Is she interested in having such a relationship with Hunter, she actually was but she also wanted it to be right, she wasn't the friends with benefits type, and she didn't want to screw things up, this thing was going to screw it up for sure, as simple as a kiss was, going further with Hunter without being sure would actually screw things up big time between them and it'll be more awkward then… Jessica decided that it was the right thing to do, just pretend nothing happened and act as normal as she could. When she was far enough she turned around again in his direction, "Three… I won…" Jessica said as her smile widened…

One look, I'm hooked, But I can't help but wonder If you're hurt inside.
It was a lose/lose situation for him, either way the outcome was to be negative, or so he assumed. They’d worked so hard for the friendship they had, spending a lot of their time with each other, getting to know one another. He couldn’t stand to lose something like that if everything got totally screwed up. If they went through with it and things did end badly, he’d most likely be the one causing it all, he always did. Therefore, he lost, game over. The next option was to not go through with it, but then they’d never know whether or not the relationship had had a chance. So, he lost again. However, he could be saving the friendship that took five years to perfect, wasn’t that winning, too?
Nothing would be the same between them, and he knew that. Even if they tried to be just friends again it would be too awkward to even consider continuing. So, the first thought that came to mind was why not go for it? Risk was the most exciting part of any relationship, or in this case, any friendship. He’d seen things like that work out, even if the two people had broken up. Hunter had his own strand of wild examples, including some of the girls that just hadn’t worked out, so remaining friends was the best option. Honestly, he thought it strengthened the friendship, because they’d gotten through a break up, and were still there supporting one another. Possibly that would be something that happened with he and Jessica if it ever came to it, not everything had to be negative. He and Jessica had patched things up before over fights and such, something like this would probably be no different. If the friendship was strong enough, it would last through anything, or so he told himself. The relationship deserved a chance, didn’t it? Hunter was always one for risks and chances, so why was he second-guessing himself? You couldn’t exactly choose who you were attracted to, it was impossible.
There were plenty positive reasons into going ahead with some type of relationship; reasons that you’d think would make him only want to continue. First off, they knew each other like they knew themselves. There wasn’t any need to get to know the other person; therefore it became so much easier. They already knew they got along, and had similar interests, so everything would be easy, right? She made him laugh, and loosen up a bit, possibly even relax for a change, that was what he needed in someone, so why was he doubting the possible relationship? The thoughts were just so overwhelming, and he found himself continuing to wonder, but at the same time reassuring himself that it could potentially work out. Even if they tried to bring things back to normal, it would only keep coming up, the thoughts of what might have been. Then, thoughts of his brother came into his mind. When they’d originally planned on moving from England, Chris had been uneasy about whether or not he should admit to having feelings for a certain girl that he was completely into. It had been Hunter to urge him into telling her, because he didn’t want his brother to have to have that unsettling feeling in his stomach once the plane took off to leave for America. It had been a good thing, because the girl had liked him back. Her family moved a year later, and then she and Christian were given the chance to be together. He felt he should push himself like he’d pushed his brother, he wouldn’t know until he tried.
Her words were reassuring, a definite boost on the confidence factor. Maybe things would work out, and knowing that she really wanted to give it a try made him more ready to give in to it. Really only one problem besides their doubts stood in the way, and that was her brother. Wyatt didn’t exactly like Hunter, despite the fact that they were strikingly similar personality wise. The guy just hated him, and there was no doubt that he disliked even the friendship he had with his sister. So, the only logical thing would be for him to hate him even more for taking an interest in Jessica besides that friendship. The other boy had a hand in a friendship, but a relationship… Not so much. The two involved, not an outside party like the Milano boy, made decisions.
Her next set of words came as a surprise to him, as a definite big surprise. Here he was, ready to give into all his doubt and just go for it, tell her that he really wanted to try it, the whole relationship thing, and she cut out. So, she changed her mind? What for? He’d prepared a simple answer, a one word answer; ‘No’. As quickly as it came, she changed the subject, and he found himself lost for words as she proceeded away from him. "Yeah... Sure," He didn’t want to race; actually, he wasn’t in the mood for it. He didn’t want to forget that it all happened, he wanted it to be real. Maybe things would have worked out, he’d just never know.
Hunter didn’t want things to go back to normal, he wanted them to be slightly different, just like he’d once imagined as a younger teen. They could pretend things were normal, but both would know that they’d never be that way, and he just didn’t want to live with such strange conditions. They were either in, or they were out, nothing more, nothing less. He’d been prepared to give it his all, but maybe things would be better normal, they’d just never truly find out. He watched her continue to swim away from him,, like the opportunity had, it was there, and then it was gone. Perhaps it was for the best, he’d just have to comfort himself with that thought. At her winning announcement he nodded, still in the exact same place he’d been in since she left. A half-hearted smile appeared, not the same bright smile he usually had. He knew what she’d been looking for in response, a laugh, and then the famous tease of him calling her a ‘cheater’. Not tonight.

Tell me, what you thinking about When you got me waitng patiently, And usually, I don't have to wait for nobody, But there's something about you, That really got me feeling weak And I'm trying to find the words to speak! Knowing Hunter and how he thinks about stuff, how he looks toward things and how he analyzes the situations, Jessica Knew that if everything between them went badly and they screwed up, Hunter would be the one beating himself over everything bad that will happen, Jessica was sure that he would, he always did. Even if it was Jessica's fault or even if it was nobody's fault but simply it didn't, Hunter will blame himself, Jessica doesn't want for this to happen, even if his exterior showed that he was tough Jessica felt that Hunter still was vulnerable and he cares about people he loves so he wouldn't wanna be the one causing her to suffer or to cry over him… Jessica was the one who certainly felt vulnerable right now, as much as she wanted to be with him, Jessica also felt that it was wrong, not because she didn't want it to happen, but because he doubt it, he wasn't sure enough and she can't handle it, it's either he's sure or he's not… Jessica herself thinking about it, she didn't come up with any conclusions concerning the matter, she also had her doubts, however she was sure that she wanted to go through with it; it's just he wasn't as eager as her maybe!
Was that a test for their friendship? They survived some nasty fights before but it didn't concern any of the stuff that couples do fight about, Jessica trusted Hunter, and she knew that once with her, if it ever happened. He's not gonna go cheat with other girls or two time her, it's just wasn't Hunter who'd do such things. He's gonna be faithful to her there is no question about it. She didn't want him to change himself for her, she'd take him as he is and he'll take her as she is.
Is this what Jessica really wants, does she want to live her life in denial and burry her feelings towards Hunter?! She couldn't do this, not after what just happened, she can't pretend that this kiss never happened, she can't pretend that he didn't kiss her back, she can't pretend that that look in his eyes didn't happen. She can't pretend that she wasn't yearning for his love, care and protection. She can't deny that she liked the way she felt when she kissed him, can she?
Jessica felt stupid, running away is never the answer for anything, she wasn't the kinda person who'd run away from anything. What was that about? Why did she say those things and then came up with this weird idea of racing? Is it because she was confused? She wasn’t confused anymore, she wanted to go through with it, she'll reveal her cards and spill it all out. If it's meant to be then it's meant to be, if it's not then she's not gonna regret not having the chance to tell him that she wants him and not having the chance to spill her guts out and tell him everything.
Things were going to change for them, they're not going to be the same again now that each one of them made it clear and laid his cards on the table, it was either going through with it or regret that they had the chance and they blew it because of their doubts. They're not the first best friends to fall in love and they're definitely not going to be the last ones, friendship was important to her but also living her life knowing that there were words unspoken between them will hurt her forever.
Jessica tucked her hair behind her ears again as it flew messily on her face, she looked over to where Hunter was, he didn't have this enthusiasm, the enthusiasm when they were around each other, he didn't move, even though he said Yeah, sure, he stayed in his place, she could feel that something went terribly wrong with them, so was that the awkwardness that they were afraid of, is it already getting weird between them? So things were never going to get normal again… Jessica expected Hunter to follow her, to laugh and say that she's such a cheater, he'd splash her and they laugh about it, but that wasn't the things that happened Jessica trembled as a chill came over her body causing her to quiver. Jessica looked away and broke the eye contact between them; she didn’t know what to think about it…
Jessica swam back slowly this time to where Hunter was, "look Hunter I really wanna know your opinion, just set my mind at ease please." Jessica said with a husky voice. Hunter knew what she was talking about, fine if he wants to know how she feels she'll let him know, she's not welling to run away again, she'll never allow herself to lose his friendship and if he wants time she'll give him the time needed for them to get back to their friendship… "I honestly don't know what you want, so tell me Hunter what do you want?" Jessica said looking at him… "I don’t know anything right now Hunter, I've never been… no scrap that, I've never felt this way before Hunter, it is true nit with Ian not with anyone, there's something about you that's really making me feel all strange and weird from the inside." Jessica said in a low voice. Jessica didn't want to say all of these but now that she did say this, she glad that she got it out, there' more to say but she'll wait until Hunter decide what's it gonna be?
